    Sleep spell

    I'm sorry if this question was answered already. I tried to search but didn't find anything. Does the Thaumaturge sleep spell become less effective when you use it on the same target repeatedly? I began casting sleep and then blizzard 1 on a powerful enemy during a FATE. Once I cast sleep again I noticed the timer was down to ten seconds. I'm still getting a handle on how this works.

    Yes, every time you recast it, it will be only as half as effective as the last time you did.
    So for instance, the first time will be 30s, the second time 15s, the thirst time 8s, et caetera ...

    there is no etc etc. it ends on the 3rd cast.

    1: 30s
    2: 15s
    3: 7-8 sec
    4+ IMMUNE

    there could be a timer when the tally resets to zero again or it could last till death. not sure as I have not experimented yet. would require keeping a mob alive while he is beating down on you maybe indefinitely to see if there is a reset timer at all.

    but for most things is something needs more than 50 seconds of continous sleep you may have to re-assess your tactics.

    There is a debuff resistance mechanic that affects all targets both players and enemies alike. if a target is susceptible to a debuff (Like sleep) after being under the effect of the debuff it'll build resistance, while not under the effect, it will gradually loose any resistance it has built up.

    the Diminishing Return (DR) on Sleep wears out somewhere between 30-45s after being Immume. As menioned above;
    1st cast: 30s
    2nd cast: 15s
    3rd cast: 8s
    4th cast: Ful resist

    <DR kicks in>

    after 30-45s the cast is in full effect again.

    Thank you everyone! Very informative, and I am learning to adjust my tactics and how to dodge more effectively.
