    Poll: Should there be completely different story line quests for crafters/gatherers?

    In my opinion, the path of crafter and gatherers shouldnt be the same as the path for warriors and wizards...

    The crafters and gatherers quests should resolve around their attempt at making a new weapon, or the vital job of exploring the lands for a rich ore mine or a never before seen tree type.


    If later on we are even going to escalate into a war with the empire... I would very much like seeing the crafters of all nations have a meeting to try to develop a weapon as a countermeasure for the invasion.

    So, yay or nay to crafters/gatherers having their own story line to follow?

    Well, we actually don't know if they do will have the same storyline or not. Every mission until now was an Empire introduction. Once the companies start going we might finally start seeing what awaits every discipline...sometimes even DoW and DoM will have separated paths.

    Crafters and gatherers should have a complete different story leading to being held in sweatshops and only fed enough to work another 12 hours the next day and whipped when they disobey and then when they become useless their character will parish never to come back, IMO anyway.

    no diff from crafters in this game then ffxi, you can call them apples but i'm still not eating it. they are crafters, there story rank ups are cool to watch and read but if they are reason to ruin battle missions the devs of this game are idiots then. you want to call crafters a class then let them fight with there weapons and have moves just as many as all the other classes and let them fight in party. till then they are just crafters. step them aside and admite it already nothing u promised at start of the first launch is in play or ever really was.

    I think the main story should be different depending on if you are battle or craft/gather, but that would mean SE will have to create two different story paths for the main scenario. However, the reason I feel this is necessary is that it allows SE to create challenging story battles for the battle classes without removing equal class status from crafters and gathers. Besides, as a crafter main, I really would rather seem myself involved in a story that is more merchant/artisan based than to go on dangerous missions a crafter has no business being given.

    I think that DoW & DoM should keep the current storyline, and then DoH & DoL should have a different storyline, maybe one that later ties into the DOW & DoM one so that we can do end quests together. But the storylines for the craft and gatherers could be something with crafting ships to battle the empire or gather materials, ect. That way the crafters and gatherers don't have to be in battles. It doesn't really make sense that they would send crafters out for something like that too.

    aye first missions in ffxi had 10 for every city, and they all tied in and some were same, but some were different, they could always go that route.

    I see that they might be expanding the story alot now, but how would they keep the levels required to do so in check? Just have alot of story missions unlocked at or around rank 50? Especially since it seems like they are going by character rank and not a fame/points system. Unless they end up lowering the required ranks for missions once they add a decent amount.

    Well, you got a point. I've no idea how they would deal with it...maybe just do like ToAU, where most content were already focused to people with capped classes. I would hate seeing content like CoP again, with rank cap at every area...that was extremely annoying IMO.

    However, knowing how pragmatic and methodic SE is, i'd not expect the real content to pop before the first cap raise.

    Here what i'm expecting:

    The big patch next month bringing the first cap raise (because there's already people with nearly everything r50) to 60.

    September bringing the PS3 version and the first expansion, bringing a second cap raise (i guess 70 or 80...75 would be way too "expected"), the new races and the advanced job system together with some new classes (ya, classes...like arcanist and musketeer). By then we might have the rest of Eorzea map unlocked and only then the real endgame content.

    IMO, the missions might keep becoming higher content until we reach this point, where we will have the "real" cap of the game. But, seeing the rank spacing between missions is dropping, i might be waiting a new one every 2~3 ranks.

    ...but, again...its just some crazy guesses. =P

    i would love to see the missions like cop again, it was one of the best in the ffxi series. it was challenging and fun, and took time to do, it gave u something to do between everything else. it gave u a great reward and an entry to a new part of the world. it was amazing and the best i seen in any mmo. it might of got anoying for people after waiting years to do them and not many people having to do them but creating a static is always usefull for that. i'm praying to god that this was gonna be the rout this game took as well, but even more on top of that. i'm very disapointed so far and i think many are. and most left already and are done talking about it, i'm hanging onto the hope they fix this and give us what they gave us in ffxi. great CHALLENGING story and PARTY play.
