Coil Turn 4 Question

With our group make up we are having problems on wave 4.

We aren't killing all the spiders before wave 5 starts.

We have a SMN, DRG, 2x bard, WHM, SCH, WAR, PLD

we keep having about 2-3 spiders still alive, and its just killing us. We are AoEing all of them while focusing rooks first.

Any suggestions?

we tried that but the problem we ran into, is the limit break gauge isn't filling before wave 5 starts. Or we also noticed with limit break, it still isn't enough to finish them off completely before the next wave. Some how, we are burning the first waves extremely quick with 10 seconds to spare ... and now we are struggling with wave 4, we have got past it a few times ... but its very close and messy.

DRG focuses Rook
BRDs use MP and TP song and aoe
SMN aoe etc

Something I do as a BRD, I macro Misery/Bloodletter into my aoe skills. Make sure your physical dps are actually targetting the rooks for extra white damage.

Hmm, I feel like this IS what we are already doing, but maybe not. For some reason last week we were killing them rather quick. Do you limit break or no?

If you don't have limit break up before phase 4 ends, your DPS is too low. Get more gear or have people figure out how to DPS.

We melee limit break the singular rook that spawns later on.
Maybe have the WHM Holy if the situation permits it, but really shouldn't see an issue if your DPS have at least a majority of DL gear.

We are almost all DL (FULL, relic +1, and allagan, few of us have 1-2 pieces of Keep / crafted ilvl 70)

We use an AoE limit break on the transition between 4 and 5 usually. After the Soldier and Knight spawn so they get hit as well. Gives us a lot of up time on the phase 5 dreadnaught when it is solo.

We run the exact same lineup with PLD instead of WAR (WAR should be better for aoe dps anyway) and we manage to get all the spiders and rooks down fine.

Might need to fine-tune your DPS with potions and/or food buffs, or relics etc.
