I had a healer the other day who rage quit when I (the tank) didn't want to do this. More or less only because I want to play the game, not skip the game. There is an exploit on the first boss for AK - the healer is able to stand in a tree at the perimeter of the battlefield, and the adds are unable to hit them. It essentially allows people to bypass worrying about the Stone Marionettes entirely. Please fix this - it's exceedingly uncomfortable to play a healer and feel pressured into this by speed-running DF groups.

Because it really takes that much longer to have to kill the adds then go back to dpsing the boss.

Guess my question here is: Why are you even killing the smaller golems in the first place? Make your tank grow some balls and just tank them AND the boss...it's not that difficult.

Because that's the way the fight is supposed to be? It's not about growing balls, or hopping in a tree, it's doing the boss fight the way it was intended. I've had maybe 1-2 groups that i've tanked for do the fight properly, ie kill the adds, and ya know what, the dungeon didn't go any slower than when the healer hopped up in the tree. TBQH its not the tank that you have to worry about, it's about taking pressure off of the healer. If you

Which is exactly why the Tank should be tanking the golems AND the boss. We're built to take the damage, we have cooldowns to reduce the damage even further, if all the healer has to worry about healing is the tank then that's a world of pressure taken off their shoulders.
Doing the fight "properly" isn't about killing the adds necessarily, but more about dealing with them (be it killing them or tanking them, tanking is just far easier). Also, I never said anything about hopping in a tree and despise any and all exploits as a rule.
Are you talking about the smaller golems? I didn't know the tree could protect you from them. I know the tree can protect you from the giant golem's AoE though.
I jumped on to a tree trunk to escape an AoE in a Guildhest last night, am I now an exploiter too?
Its a game breaking exploit.
I could almost understand if this was an exploit that made a tough boss more manageable. But really? The first boss of AK? He's completely faceroll, why do people even bother exploiting this guy?
