Content Poll's by the Community Rep's

Greetings!

Came up with this idea in order to give more direct & centralized feedback to the community, dev. team, and fellow players around Eorzea.

After a patch is released, why not have a Community Representative sticky a poll to the top of the forums with various questions that people can vote on (Yet not post replies about in order to cut down spam) regarding recent patch content. Something along the lines of:

"With the recent release of Patch 1.17a, do you like the content & changes it has brought forth?"

A: Yes
B: No
C: Too easy
D: Too hard
E: Needs tweaking

Having polls such as these would give instant feedback to everyone on the overall mood about a recent patch, yet all in one centralized location. I'm hoping it would cut down on the need to shift through tons of repeat threads on the same subjects.

Polls aren't the solution. Many people don't reply...some don't even play anyomre (and won't return to game) do..polls are only worth as "curiosity". I would never base my decisions at polls since the population that is answering it isn't reliable.

As example, i know lots of people that just messed around at both past polls.

However, i do believe polls regarding very specific points, like a poll only regarding behest, do can offer constructive feedback...much more than general polls that try to cover the game as a whole...specially because at least half of any playerbase has absolutely no idea of how programing work...they just "want" something...and this do can mess with poll results.

I think the CM and Dev team posting polls here is a great idea.

I'm sure that the Fansites would post news about it as well which would reach even more people.

Maybe do a weekly poll. Change it every Monday.

That wouldn't be such a bad idea. Ask one, very specific question, about things that were added in patches. Stay away from questions that are open ended or unimplemented. For example, do not ask, "Do you want an Auction house?" because that is way to open ended and open to debate. So is, "Are the market wards working?"

Something along the lines of week 1, "Does the new targeting system address your needs" with answers, "Yes," "No," "Yes, but needs tweaking," and "No, but its close."

The problem you might run into is when you start getting away from technical aspects of the game and into content, "Is the new NM content and items satisfactory," What do you answer? "Well, yes, but I'm only R35 so its perfect... for now," or "No, because I'm R1/R50 and its pointless to me."
