    Coil Needs Changes

    The lockout system on Coil is BS.

    As Coil is the only endgame worth doing right now, it's pretty dumb to have a group of more or less than 8 people playing the game with you.

    Have 10 people in your group that are ready and willing to do coil? Well screw you, because 2 of them aren't going to get to go with you each week.

    A simple solution would be to change the loot system from direct drops to currency, then instead of locking people out of the dungeon on completion, lock them out of rewards. Have you completed Turn 1 this week? Then you can help a friend with Turn 1 so he can get the currency, but you're not allowed to receive more currency this week. Comparatively, the lockout right now, I imagine, is mostly to prevent people from rotating one person and having them receive 2 whole pieces of gear.

    Honestly SE, do something. Your endgame needs work. It's completely vertical and this lock-out crap on Coil is just NOT okay on a weekly timer.

    I love how people rage at a 1~2month old game saying 'endgame' like lv50 ended the story and is max cap forever, and this is all we have for all eternity. That's what you get for fate grinding all day and getting on the cap level so fast, deal with it.

    Wait for 2.1, they will implement more stuff, you know.
    And then other patches, and other expansions and everything that every MMO have. They are never released full balanced, never without problems. But that's sortable.


    Like they love to say, 'please look forward to it'.

    Yea it does suck if you have like 10 people wanting to go but you can only take 8. That's how most MMOs work these days with raids. There is a 1 week lockout you can't do it more then once. It forces a set roster. You can always recruit for the bench have those guys step in when someone can't make it.

    Pretty sure the coil raid is balanced for 8 people not 10, thats just how it is.

    I don't know how many times this needs to be pointed out, but ARR is not a new game. It is a new version of a game that had been out for a while and there are 10 packed servers worth of people that transferred max level characters to. ARR was expected to be designed with this in mind so writing the issue off as a bunch of people consuming content too fast then whining is not valid.

    And see more shouts about "selling Coil Turn clears and loot"? No thanks. Try and think outside of the box. And honestly, if you have played other MMO's for the last 5 years or so, you should have been used to these lock outs.

    I agree with this, but the whole "10 people in your group" is a more personal problem. Can't really expect an MMO to cater to the specific amount of friends you have.

    Coil is endgame... right now atleast. Endgame doesn't mean the final content in that certain game's life.

    I think that is literally the only downside. The positives outweigh the negatives.

    A loot lockout instead of a boss lockout would be a great idea imo. I can't tell you how many times i have to watch a friend of mine miss out on loot for the week when they only need more 1 healer (im a healer). Also it'd be a great way to get an FC members more gear. It only promotes selflessness if you think about it.

    I can tell from this post that you did not read the entire post this person posted.

    What kari is asking for is to remove the Lockout for entering Coil once per week and replace it with Loot Lockout.

    Loot Lockout will function just like Entrance Lockout Coil currently has now but instead of locking out the players entirely from entering coil again they are locked out from obtaining loot from coil again instead. Ya you can enter coil again to get myth tomes for your weekly 300 limit but it will still be impossible to get all allagan gear in 1 week.

    Ya you can run Coil again for the myth tomes and helping friends get their weekly Coil loot but you will not be able to obtain any more loot for the entire week yourself until the weekly reset.

    Loot Lockout out for coil will also add another benefit being a alternate method to obtain Myth tomes. Currently the Entrance lockout system coil has now prevents Coil from being a alternative method from obtaining myth tomes from AK.
