How many guilds can I join?

Can i join the GLD guild and the Archers guild? Can I join all the guilds?

Hi Celt:

Unlike other MMO's, you don't need to join a guild to partake in that profession. You just need to equip the main-hand weapon (or tool for crafter/gatherer) and you will instantly transform into that class. The starting weapons and tools can be purchased from NPCs in the towns. (note: if you're still broke, do your rank 1 & 8 story quest missions for some seed money, and only choose a couple to start)

When you hit rank 10, you will start randomly earining "guild marks" when you complete regional battle/gathering leves and local crafting leves when you complete the assigned tasks. You can then use your earned guild marks as a form of currency at the respective guild halls to buy special manuals and skills. There are also profession quests for each class at ranks 20, 30, and 36.

If you choose to craft, you can use your guild's "facilities" to help improve your chances of success (also: some recipes will benefit from use of guild facilities) The guild halls offer 3 tiers of support you can purchase (with regular gil), but you can gain "Basic" support from any Repair NPC in any town or in the wards also.

Currently, that's the extent of what your guild "membership" will get you.

In response to OP since it wasn't explicitly mentioned in your post: Yes. You can join every single guild if you want. You don't officially join until you get your first quest at rank 20 though, so it can take quite a bit of work to join them all. I myself am lacking Fisher, Culinarian, and Miner.
