my FC leader quit!

is there a way to get FC lead? i put a ticket. but they didnt really help or explain anything which is really frustrating. so is there a way to get FC lead if the leader is inactive?

Don't think there is a hostile takeover feature.
Neither would I personally like to see one.

Best to just abandon the FC and make a new one.

As there is currently no way to transfer the permissions of the free company leader to other members in the event that they leave the game, or don't log in for a long time, we are working to make it possible to receive these permissions via some method. For example, if the leader has not logged in for a very long period of time, it will automatically be passed to another officer by specific rules. We will be implementing this system after patch 2.1.

uhhhh wrong i had this happen on another toon on diabolos. the fc leader rage quiet after changing all premissions and deleted his toon because someone joked he kept getting him by all of ifirts moves. Se was able to give it to an officer just fine.

That may be the case, but that is the info that was provided.

Perhaps by speaking with SE they were made leader. Its far more likely that the original leader made an officer leader before delete.

Aside from that in your case Cylestea you say the FC leader actually deleted their character which makes it easier for a GM to transfer leadership.
In the case of RedSquirrel it is uncertain that the FC leader actually deleted his or her character, if they just deactivated/stopped recurring payment but did not delete their character it's a bit harder to do.

This is one of the million basic things SE are 'working on', right now there is no mechanism in place to transfer ownership of an FC.
