Color Blindness and Playing FFXIV

Also, they really need to make it so red stuff is priority of vision over crap like Shadowflare, I can rarely see what's actually going on unless i really really focus on color tone changes when shadowflare gets dropped on the mobs I'm tanking.

Garuda adds are the most annoying. If the link was thicker i would have an easier time of it since red generally appears slightly darker than greens (not always but most times) but since it is wire thin if no one marks ( i generally ask for it) i have to hope the dps is on the right one cause i attack the one whose health is droping fastest.

One of my friends is colour blind and a problem for him is that the green text that indicates which debuffs are yours (So you know when to refresh dots) is too pale, and just looks white to him. In fact he didn't realise there was a way to tell them apart until I mentioned the your debuffs appear in green.

I'm not colourblind and I can't tell the difference between my own DoT's and other peoples.Different colour or a slightly different size for your own would help a lot.

I'm black/white color blind (at the very least a third generation in my family). It's sometimes quite difficult to pick up mob AoE attacks, cones, etc. Worst one was the final boss of a dungeon that is a dragon that will coat the floor "white" for a breath attacks as it flies. Unfortunately the damn ground is also nearly all white (for me).

I have also trouble with the Garuda adds. And I'm a tank... xD I cannot differentiate between the lines

yeah I have problems with this. and most games in general. I have to artificially bump and slide the colors coming out of my graphics card in general.

It's a definite problem that needs addressed. We have a couple colorblind players in our FC who have problems with the AoE effects.

Yep, didn't know about the debuffs thing either..
And indeed can't tell the difference between Garuda adds.. I even most of the time think the red one is the green one lol. Always ask for marking and there are always people helping,, thx btw ;D

Some 10% of the male population is Red-Green Colour deficient (Including myself).

Would love an option to change the colour, or to border-black the aoe circles so they stand out better.
