Some people don't care about respect. It doesn't matter who came first - him actually untagging your mobs was kinda lame. But then again, no surprise. Yay MMOs. -.-

This is silly. Someone leveling on Apkallu's tried to tell me to stop stealing all the mobs because I was farming them on my BRD. Your leveling/hunting log is no more important than someone's farming. Do I think it was probably a d*ck move to not give you a couple? Yes, I do. Oh well though just move on to the next log and come back later. Kind of pointless to post.

I take it you purposely reset aggro on mobs that lowbies already have tagged just so they won't get credit? That seems to be what you're defending.
You create an atmosphere like that, and you'll get it right back. Tbh, I didn't rage at the guy or anything. Just silently /followed as a blm after I got my log after about 10 mins of competing with that crap, and out pulled em until I got bored xD I did switch to my whm and give him a SS and regen before I left though, wonder what he thought of that...
You're right, your post was kind of pointless. You knew what the thread was about, and apparently its 'pointless' to you, so why post and bump it up? Evidently its has more 'point' to you than you like to think ;p

Technically, no, it's not more important.
BUT, if you're farming for an extended period of time, really, how much of an inconvenience is it for you to give up one spawn round to someone who just needs to tag a few for their hunting log.
It's not about importance, or me-first or even 'that's how the game works.' It's about the fact that it would likely NOT affect the person farming if they allowed this poor guy to just tag a few for the hunting log.
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.

I was farming toad skins a few days ago, and saw another character casting what I thought were random spells around a set of three toads. He wasn't damaging them after about 30 seconds, so I figured he wasn't interested in them. I tagged and killed them, and continued my farming circle. About the third time around, he sent me a /tell, stating he was trying to sync those three toads' spawns so he could AOE them. He asked if I could leave those three alone. There was no anger or attitude, and I happily replied "NP". Those three toads were his for about a half-hour, when another player arrived and ignored both of our kind requests to leave those three alone. I was done farming by then, and eventually gave up trying to help.
There are good people and there are jerks everywhere. Who you have to deal with is just a matter of perspective and luck.

I realize my post made me look kind of like a jerk. No i don't condone stealing mobs just out of spite. If you get a claim it's yours. What I'm saying is your agenda with the mob is not more important than mine. In the case of my apkallu farming, once I got civil conversation out of the levelers it ended up they just wanted a few mobs, not for me to leave or stop farming. I am perfectly happy to do this.
Griefing has become a major issue. 1.0 never had this much, nor have many of the other MMOs' I have tried. Last night went into Garuda and paladin shows up and starts spamming LB1 every time it's up. We asked if he was trolling and he just laughed. No one wanted the 15 minute lockout, but after a few minutes someone just decided to go to bed and drop. Why would someone act like this? Who knows, I assume there are a lot of children playing the game, but it could just be a tragic commentary on our times.

Aaaah... once upon a time in FFXIV 1.0, there was a place called Natalan. It was the best place to level to 50 and after 50 it was the best place to spiritbond for materia.
Everyone wanted this small piece of Eorzea. Battles were fought, feelings were hurt, tears were shed. Terrible things were done, terrible things were said.
In the end... we all got over it.
Now we are in 2.0 where people fight for half a second over some Banemites or Fleece camps and come to the forums to complain about it. How things change....
