Coming back to FFXIV - 2 questions:

First let me say that question #1 is simply your opinion - a "what would you do" situation...and question #2 is somewhat dependent on the answer to question #1 being "a" for myself...

#1 If you were coming back at this point, with only a handful of classes at or around Lv. 20, would you...

a) come back to Bodhum as you were.

b) come back to Bodhum as something different (name, job, appearance).

c) complete re-roll onto a different server (higher/lower population).

d) other, and, if so, what then?



Right now I'm playing as my character, Nicholas Wolfwood, on Bodhum. Are there any LSs on Bodhum that are laid back, open minded, like to chat and are pretty serious about leveling and doing stuff on Bodhum? Sorry for the broad question, but it's lonely coming back. I've got 8 years of FFXI experience, but I don't get to play as much as I did in highschool and whatnot. I'm finishing up Geological Engineering at university right now...one more year.

#2 So basically, if I stay on Bodhum, <Linkshell> <Do you have it?> <Can I have it?> ^^

Getting half dozen classes to 20 in an afternoon is feasible with high level help. So creating a new character isnt that big of a deal.

Bohdum is extremely low key and low population. If your looking for a bustling economy and lots of player interaction, you might want to try Mysidea or one of the other JP heavy servers. But honestly when it comes time for endgame content, your going to see alot more competition.

As for finding a shell, theres half dozen that come to mind as genuinely active. I would look around ulda and check out clusters of players wearing the same sheild. You will see familiar faces and active players within a few days.

I'm on Bodhum, and camp horizon is by far the busiest camp on the server. So having rank 20s wouldn't be a problem because there are always people do behest with and you could probably even shout for help with leves. Just try to get someone in your rank range for sp bonus.
As for a linkshell, there are a couple active/"big" linkshells on Bodhum. If you can't find one just partying with people, don't be afraid to shout in Ul'Dah for one! Most people on Bodhum are pretty nice and helpful, I find. Just put yourself out there.

Hey Wolfwood, To answer your questions:

1. A
-because you are more likely to meet up with people you've played with in the past. A for the rank 20's thing, pretty much everyone on the server has a class they could rank with you plus i am sure there is still A LOT about the game you still need to learn!!\

2. As for a Linkshell my current LS is end-game based but we have another LS for anyone who wants it! its a LS full of a very good group of players who constantly do leves and behest and a lot of them are building multiple classes up at once so you won't have to worry about gimped SP. (also the main LS helps them all the time! just yesterday i went out with 3 of them to get them the new NM gear for rank 30) so if you like you can send me a tell in-game and i'll add you! the Linkshell is called Friends of SuTR (SuTR being my main) my IGN is Kaisersose Lionguard
