This is basically what it boils down to.
Don't care how they died.
Don't care where they are raised.
Don't care if it was someones fault they died.
Why must people nit pick like this? Do you have any idea the stupid logic behind it? How are you to code something to determine if the persons death was due to someone screwing up or some other factor? And if you did it would only cause more gripes about how it decides who/what is at fault.Coming up from a raise requires knowing the fight and when abilities are going out. I don't see any problem with the current animation. And imo, battle rez shouldn't exist in the first place. People should be forced to do a fight without any death's because people shouldn't be dieing in an encounter in the first place.
The only acceptable use for Raise IMO is when a death is due to a legit problem that was unavoidable, e.g. "Healer DC'd from power spike, dog ripped mouse out of computer, spilt mountain dew on keyboard, HUGE Lag spike killed people, etc etc etc" Dying because you were standing in a red circle and not lagging or any of the above issues, inexcusable, wipe it up and try again.

i think the other point against learn to raise in a better location or timing or accept the raise with better timing, is this, with two healers in an 8 man group you dont know which healer is raising you meaning, you raise where they were standing and so how should you know oh im going to be raised here at this point to time such a thing as per a few fights. i hope that made sense
The whole thing is pretty stupid. Also sometimes when someone has raised me the controls can sometimes be a bit off and his difficult to move. But what I hate the most is when I raise someone and I see their health return on the part frame so I attempt to heal them only to heal myself, I've wasted many benedictions because of this. Did any bugs get fixed during beta?
I see people saying I should, as a WHM learn to raise better... Have you been in Titan? Where pray tell am I supposed to go to raise someone to the right position? No, that is not the problem. SE won't let you heal someone coming up, but you sure as hell can die to anything from the mob. If you cant take a heal, you SHOULD NOT be able to take damage. Plain and simple. Leave it to SE to break something so basic. I have heard there is a glitch with medica 2 that will make the player invincible, but Im not willing to give it a go, we know what SE does to people that use bugs in the game...
There is a glitch that will hopefully be fixed in a patch cos it can be triggered accidently in titan as well. It doesnt make them invincible though, it takes weakness off them and replaces it with a raise buff. They actually recover slower naturally which can be troublesome in titan because it acts like they didnt die and they are still in combat. If they happen to get hit by aoe they will still die again but the raise buff stays on so they get another raise for free.. this glitch is being shown on quite a few speed run videos nowadays so i woulda thought they are working on fixing it

agree 100% most of the time when i might need a raise i am not entirely sure where i am going to raise at. 99% of the time it happens to be in an aoe that kills you before anything can be done about it

In most MMO's, you can't raise in combat at all. I like that it is sometimes tricky to raise someone who died.
You're not "supposed" to raise them at all. ALL of Titan's damage is completely predictable, and MOST of the time, completely avoidable as well.Have you been in Titan? Where pray tell am I supposed to go to raise someone to the right position?

How many MMOs have you played?
WoW alone has 3 classes with combat rezzes. I realize this is apples to oranges as WoW combat is differently paced, but it's contextually applicable: the WoW abilities are instant cast. The casting time of Raise is sufficiently long that I think there's your strategizing, right there: also, it is not your fault, as a healer, if you spend the time on a Raise and someone accepts at a stupid moment.
The animation lock is broken. Stop defending it.
