Do buffs affect Limit Break damage?

I've tried asking a few different players, but nobody seems to have a clear cut answer on this. I've always made it a habit to use buffs before executing the limit break, thinking it would give me a higher damage output as opposed to just using it on its own. Some have told me that since limit breaks depend on potency, it makes sense that buffs would have an effect on that, but... Others have stated that buffs don't contribute to the damage at all. So, which is it?

Another question: does gear have an influence at all then? I sure hope so.

I also heard Dragoons saying they buff before using it...

I'm a Dragoon and buff before I use it, lol. That's why I've felt compelled to ask. I'm wondering if waiting for Life Surge, Blood for Blood, and/or Internal Release to fill before using my LB is even worth it, heh.

Limit break damage is a flat potency rate and cannot be influenced by anything beyond the number of bars filled.

In short, buffs do nothing.

not necessarily entirely true... LB's can be swiftcasted.

Wouldn't be surprised if there were other buffs that have an effect.

So let's say you activate Bloodthirst and the use Limit Break as Dragoon. Would it heal you corectly acording to the damage you do with the Limit Break?

It does. Friend used Meteor on Ifrit's nails in high gear and relic+1, only one nail, the one that wasn't damaged before Meteor hit, was left standing, with around 1% of HP left.

gear certainly effects them and buff skills do seem to as well

with full darklight and my relic book i can one shot ifrit nails and garuda minions with limit break while when i was learning the fights it did like 60-70% of their hp

and swiftcast definitely works with them so don't know why other skills wouldn't

I'd say wep damage has the highest effect; you multiply wep damage with skill potency, and str/det modifiers. Difference between Ifrit Spear, and +1 Relic, is like 3k damage.
And i'm quite sure buffs don't work.

yes,equipment does matter
but not sure with the damage buffs
