I can safely say i took my sweet time playing FFXIV... Now i stare at my Relic+1 and wonder "What next?". I mean, i Still need to gear up.. I need to finish Darklight/Purchase Relic armor... But I just feel like I don't want to run AK anymore, I don't want to grind CM... I know its an MMO, but thats not the problem, Its just the game is too young. Which I'm not faulting it for btw, just stating.
I feel like I should have waited for 2-3 Patches before diving it, Give the game time to build momentum and content. I have 50GoldSmith, Trying to level a new job but its so painfully dull and horrible that I can hardly stand it... I honestly preferred FFXI's leveling to FATE-grinds. But when your TNL reaching into stupid numbers Its hard to do any exping but the large number bursts.
Personally I think having 500k TNL and still only getting like 600 exp from mobs is probably the dumbest thing I've ever attempted to comprehend from any logical or reasonable standpoint whatsoever, But I guess thats whatever. Most MMO players only understand one thing, so i can't be surprised if a company wants to monotize on the crowd of Zombies known as MMO hoppers by simply making the game as basic as possible and as much like WoW or other MMOs as possible.
Personally, I think if this were any other game... I'd of quit by now. Linear progression doesn't appeal to me, but i know why its there. Need to slap on I.Lv/Linear stats so you don't risk people being too stupid to understand how to gear themselves... Which i think is insulting but they're probably right... most MMO players don't want to have to think about numbers and suck with math so anything short of Linear, Vertical I.lv gear progression will confuse and infuriate them.
Eh, I'm ranting. Long story short, Games young, Give it time to release more content. But being bored with the game isn't only because "MMO's aren't your thing", its because this game just copy and pasted any and every "popular" MMO system, including the "One way only" gameplay of Leveling up and Endgame content. You have no options or variety anywhere and if you've played any other MMO this is just a rerun of those MMOs.

YoshiP said "the game starts at endgame". And some people started at 50 because this isn't a NEW game-- it's a continuation of 1.0.
They should of fixed Twintania (doing so right now) and raised the mytho cap to 400-500 per week. Crystal Tower should of been a tier up from Coil. They really screwed this up.
Yep...they should have pushed back release until November or so, released Coil and CT together, and 2.1 would bring BL + Coil content + CT content + Extreme Primals + all the other fluff some people consider endgame(PvP, Housing, etc...)
CT will drop worse gear than Coil and be much easier meaning any progression or meaningful content coming with 2.2(5-6 months off) Things aren't looking good, which is sad cause they have done a fantastic job with the game.

Translation: because you don't have the patience to wait for endgame, then NOBODY ELSE should have the opportunity to play the game at all until it's 100% ready to go with a ton of endgame all at once.Yep...they should have pushed back release until November or so, released Coil and CT together, and 2.1 would bring BL + Coil content + CT content + Extreme Primals + all the other fluff some people consider endgame(PvP, Housing, etc...)

If you don't see how that's a self-entitled and obsessive viewpoint, there really is no hope for you.
When 2.1 hits, I seriously doubt the majority of the playerbase will have even set foot inside Coil yet.Yep...they should have pushed back release until November or so, released Coil and CT together, and 2.1 would bring BL + Coil content + CT content + Extreme Primals + all the other fluff some people consider endgame(PvP, Housing, etc...)

Please understand the fact that people who are currently bored by the endame are just the vocal minority.
Also, you are telling me that, even if you managed to get Twintania on farm status before CT goes live, you will not want to experience the new content just because "drops are bad"?
Why always care about gear gear gear gear and nothing else?
Just wondering how many times you've ran Wanderer's Palace. Probably once like the rest of us then went back to farming AK.When 2.1 hits, I seriously doubt the majority of the playerbase will have even set foot inside Coil yet.

This is exactly what CT is going to be to most Coil groups.
The crowd that is complaining about a lack of content would not have been sated by slightly more content. They want the grind. They crave it. When they realize their grinding has finally gotten them to the end, they pitch a fit and demand that they have more to grind. It's been the same for a bunch of MMOs. This thread has been posted on so many MMO boards in a different form that it's ridiculous.

So are you guys quitting then? I'm confused.
