Dear people with raise/ressurection

PLEASE make a macro to announce in party chat that you are raising <t>.

Way too many times have I wasted my swiftcast along with another healer, or even a summoner, to res the same person only for someone else to die right after (usually someone more important) and none of us having a swiftcast available, along with everyone wasting 700 mp casting Raise at the same time on the same person. OR, I'm standing there casting resurrection for the full 7 seconds, while someone else off to the side of my screen that I can't see is doing the same thing.


This just wastes time and MP, I think it would really help everyone coordinate better if we all added a macro like this:

/ac Raise <t>
/p Casting Raise on <t>! <se.2>

/micon Resurrection
/ac Resurrection <t>
/p Casting Resurrection on <t>! <se.2>

A good idea... You can even put the macro behind the Raise icon and put it in the same place on the Hotbar. It'll also stop random dirt eaters from going back to their home point just as you start casting!

Eh, usually if i'm rezzing people as my summoner, it's with swiftcast, and because the healer didn't do that already (or i'm rezzing a healer). Not sure how a macro will help with that situation.

You shouldn't have issues with mana,

And you can always swiftcast something else instead, like stoneskin(as crossclass) or Adlo or something.

Also, if both of you are instantly doing it at the same time a macro telling you that you both just did an instant action that you can't take back doesn't change anything.

If you're targeting someone with a raise icon buff on them someone else has already raised them.

Edit: the team UI also shows what someone is casting so if you see the other healer casting it you can stop mid cast by moving or jumping.

While I do like the idea of macros, like others have said, it is kinda pointless to have one if you both use it as soon as someone goes down. The best thing to do is to establish who should raise first before the fight starts. That is much better than a macro to me. You can also use swift cast to cast something else. Succor, Medica /2, Holy, Shadow flare, Stoneskin whatever. You don't have to waste it.

Another thing you can do is just like when someone gets a debuff, just watch for the raise or swiftcast icon on the other healer or dead person. You can do more on your part as well.

Yeah like they said an instant ability at isn't going to be given back by putting in a message. It will stop the homepointers and stop people from trying to res AFTER you hit your macro though. I have it in my macro but because I run with a set team most of the time our rez are all done by the SMN unless he is down then I as the SCH get him up while the WHM does the healing. ^^

Why would it help though? If your swiftcasting at the same time, you'll probably both use it at the same time anyways because of delay.

If not swiftcasting, you should be looking at status bar all the time which will tell you if another healer is casting res right?
