SE's FFXIV at E3

No E3 and/or TGS presence would be a hell of a missed opportunity.

An opportunity specifically to show those who have stopped playing six months ago how much the game has changed - it is these people that are causing 90% off the bad press and these events are one of the very few forums in which SE can ensure they get these peoples' attention.

Otherwise, you'll just get people continuing to pay out the game as unplayable even though their knowledge of the game state is severely outdated.

So I expect it to be there in at least SOME capacity, even if it's just part of a larger presentation and not even playable on the show floor.

Thank you! That is exactly what i am thinking. A lot of people have quit the game a lot of people who wanted to buy the game didn't because of the bad reviews.

How do you guys think SE will reach out to these people? Sure FFXIV's current state is not at it's best yet but you guys have no idea of what is going at their studio, what kind of content is ready and testing.

Unless most of you think SE is satisfied with the handful of people still playing the game at this moment... E3 is a major opportunity to bring back those who left and those who were told to stay away. If they miss their chance then they are even more screwed then i thought... with time people will have forgotten FFXIV even exists and the current player base will not be enough to justify keep this game running no matter how much they change it.

NOTHING has changed, people are not going to be WOW'd by faster UI, or a market ward window, or that SP is static, or that ! shows on peoples names. They will just laugh and it will make XIV look worse.

SE wont show XIV at e3, it will be used for most likely Western Games such as dues ex and hitman

QFT - The UI speed is still sub-par, market wards aren't an AH, static SP is simply the norm in any MMO, etc..

FFXIV needs drastic changes (not a few tweaks and a couple of quests) before SE can go to E3 and say, "Look, we fixed this shit, come give us another shot."

Like it was stated before, E3 is to advertise unreleased products. If they show FFXIV you really think they will show patch 1.17? You think they have nothing at all done in their studio?

If the industry was following your logic then we wouldn't see anything from anyone at E3 besides for games already released and then again what would be the point? E3 is to promote the future not to showcase what we already know.

You realising what you're saying? A couple dungeons is not an unreleased product, you wont see call of duty map packs being shown there. And thats all dungeons is.

They're working hard on fixing the game and they dont exactly have something that could be anywhere near as good whats what TERA's May Patch trailer was. Its expansion pack quality.

I also doubt they've got a trailer that could match Aion 3.0 back when Aion was still 1.2 lol. And this is what the industry are looking for, XIV will just be shamed if it was shown at e3.

Also remember SE is a massive company with lots of studios, they've got much bigger games in store, Hitman is already gunna be there with the teaser already been shown, There is talk of the new Tomb Raider and there is most likely going to be playable versions of Dues Ex, thats 3 games already that have priority over XIV.

Nice, i didn't know you were part of the Dev team. Since you know so much about what they have now and what is being worked on or not.. care to tell us the details of patch 1.18? I mean Yoshi-P's letters are coming too slow... so just give us a resume of what we can expect.

Clearly SE will have some stuff to announce in regards to FFXIV at this year's E3. But could it be a lot more then the PS3 release? Will SE be dropping a bomb that will save FFXIV?

Talk a little game, even if not yet optimal, not to forget (for others) and keep an eye on it ...

I think being able to show off some of the boss fights, and have a pre-cut trailer along with some of 1.18 running on PS3s would help to generate some interest.

If you were them that is exactly what you would do right? It's just common sense, yet i cannot understand why so many people think they will stop discussing and promoting the game until .. well... until these same people feel satisfied with the game oh and not to forget they need to be personally advised of any announcement first and by Yoshi-P himself.
