I'd call you an idiot as well. You are freaking tank, use your tanking skills.I had the same thing happen to me in Wanderers Palace! some IDIOT archer from the very start trying to tell me "as I'm a tank, to plz be on shield oath (I replied -"don't be pushy") and the reply to that was (I have to be to get this & this) Whatever, I did just fine the way I was (without being carried!).
What you did was extremely selfish, served no purpose, and forced your healer to carry you. Stay on Phoenix please, we don't need more of your kind in Midgard.

REPLY TO FICKLE-HAAA, YOU DID GIVE UP ON IT I CAN TELL BY YOUR ONE TRACK PUSHY ATTITUDE(YUP-LETS JUST FORGET THAT ONE)

While I generally agree with you "Don't tell other people how to play their jobs", you have to remember, this isn't a one class per person game. Many people, including myself, have multiple level 50s. I myself have 50 Paladin and 50 Warrior. E.g. I was in titan hm in DF because my Warrior needs it and the pld in there was losing hate so I gave him advice on rotation. That's not because I think I'm awesome, but because I have a paladin too, and I don't lose hate on Titan on either.
The only real difference between hardcore and casual is time spent. A casual player can understand the game as much any hardcore.Yeah MMOs are terrible now, because the "Casual" player population has skyrocketed and they all expect the "Hardcore" population to carry them and give them free progression/gear.
"Hardcore" = Puts time and effort into learning a class and playing it well.
"Casual" = Puts minimum amount of time into the game and expects everyone else to work harder to make up for their bad play.
This game is easy, anyone who can't spend 15 minutes on a guide post or accept constructive criticism should really stick to single player games. I will admit that some people do deliver "advice" in a mean way, but most of us "Hardcore" meanies do give nice and constructive criticism, if people don't accept it then it's their own fault for being ridiculed/excluded.
There are people who don't know how to play in both camps.

If I see a BLM casting Flare with full mp and under the effect of umbral ice, you're gonna hear about it. Sorry, dems the rules.

Unfortunately, your math is incorrect. I do, however, appreciate that you at least tried to give an explanation for your method. Listen to what the majority of this community is telling you. You can keep doing it your way; no one can stop you but you're just lowering your own damage output and therefore shouldn't consider progression beyond Ifrit HM unless you learn to use a proper rotation. Just being real, man.I was using Ruin II + Energy Drain, and he thought I should be using Ruin I + Fester because he thought it did more damage.
Ruin I (2.45 cast time + 2.45 recast, 80 potency) + Fester (300 max potency)
You can cast 9 Ruins and 3 Festers every 60 seconds: (9 * 80) + (3 * 300) = 1620 total potency damage per 60 seconds.
Ruin II (instant + 2.45 recast, 80 potency) + Energy Drain (150 potency)
You can cast 21 Ruin IIs and 3 Energy Drains every 60 seconds: (21 * 80) + (3 * 150) = 2130 total potency damage per 60 seconds.
A difference of 510 potency, or 32% more damage. This is not an insignificant amount.
So please, just let players play how they want. Just because they're not following the norm, doesn't mean they're bad players.

So OP got to 50 and never realised CDs start the moment you start casting rather than the moment you finish casting.
Welp, I'm out.
