Now if only a community rep could come in and corroborate some of this information... if it's true, just come out and say so? If it's not, just come out and say so?
Just curious, but why do people think that what that one customer support rep said to one person is a final answer? Hopefully you all realize that customer support representatives are -very- far from the central operations in any organization. They don't get the information that you all think that they have. That information was likely passed down to that particular Rep from their management or some sort of wide-spread email with a generalization of the issue so that all hands on the support team were "aware".
Not only that, but it's easier to just say "We aren't compensating" than it is to for them to try and figure out how to fix something in the midst of a messy investigation. Do it for one person, and you'll have to do it for all of them. And then they're back at square one and might as well not have punished anyone from the get-go.
But I digress. A customer support representative is not the final say on any matter, no matter what the organization is. They follow immediate instructions passed down to them and those instructions do change spontaneously. They likely haven't said anything because they're still discussing what should be done and like I said, it's easier for them to tell customer support to say "no" for now than to try and wade through who may or may not be doing something while they're trying to bust the cheaters.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?
I agree, and the response was taken with a grain of salt, but that is the most official response we have to go by until a community rep says something. Until then, we're still waiting for anyone to say anything on the matter.
I wonder if they just want us all to quit and let it be forgotten... and people keep making threads about it.
Two weeks now?
Wow. Back from my trip and surprise surprise - most of these threads have died out. I noticed something else dying out too... the amount of friends I have that are interested in playing this game. I guess if it wasn't safe to assume SE's stance on this a week ago, it is now. So now we're left wondering and sticking to our opinions? I for one will trust experience, the giant uproar, and the personal friends who say SE is at fault. It wouldn't be much fun if I couldn't trust my peers anyway... meanwhile, I got blasted with RMT tells for the few moments I was on to collect my U/U earrings. Thanks SE.
OFC they aren't going to do anything else about it. They did the best course of action given the time limitations and resource limitations. YOU ARE NOT GETTING YOUR TAINTED GIL BACK. If you want to continue to QQ go play another game.
Liked, also would like to hear from them.
