The following was posted in the Japanese Dev Tracker and prelim translations suggests its a conversion guide for the measurement nomenclature used in game. I'd like to request an official translation of it. :P Thanks SE.

I cleaned up the translation a bit, Fulm originally read as Fumuru but I surmised that would translate to Fulm like the Fulm-long sub from FFXI an alternate way of saying our Foot Long Sub in the U.S.

Though this raises even more questions for the Devs, cooking/alchemy would sometimes use liquid measurement where recipes involving metal/wood/etc would use dry measurement. Which onz is which and even further on the onz (ounce) US /UK or Troy ounce the same goes for pounds or tons.

Sounds like simply units of measurement. I'll wait for the official translations though, as Yoshi-P has actually asked that we not prematurely translate these things to avoid context losses and so forth.

All I consider important right now is that the mini-map has a radius of 100 yalms - existing known fact.

These measurements were used in FFXI as well. They aren't exactly new to this particular game. The moment I saw the conversion numbers I realized they were the same as our US measurements. This is grade school level math here.
