Character transfer limit?

I've been hoping for another name change option since Fantasia's description was changed to state it wouldn't allow this. Initially, it was stated it would allow changing everything except starting class. With the world transfer service starting next week, I figured I would just make a new character with her name on a low-population world, and then transfer her there. According to the guidelines, that should force a name change.

My questions are: Is this an acceptable way to change her name, and will there be a waiting period before I can transfer her back? I'm not concerned with having to pay for the second transfer, I just don't want to leave my FC for any longer than I have to.

I posted this on Friday, and received no answer over the weekend.... Can I please get an official answer before transfers start?

Sorry, but SE rarely reply on the forums at all and very few posts have been in technical support.

Although this is not a definitive answer, with FFXI you had to wait 90 days between transfers (source) so I would expect this to probably be the same (and then you'd have to pay to transfer back as the free transfer window would have long passed).

I figured it would be like XI, but was hoping for some clarification before transfers went live. I was originally going to try with a different character (if I didn't get an answer here), but I don't want to put my game on hold for a test. I'll probably just wait and see what other details they add once the service has been up for awhile.

Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll announce a free or paid name change option soon (not holding my breath though). That's all I really want anyhow.... seems kinda pointless to allow sex-changes (Fantasia) without name-changes DOH!

I'm not sure if this is a viable option, but can't you just create a character with the same name on the server you want? Then it would force a name change on the one transferring.

Do you know this will just increase server population and increase the possibility everyone gets kicked out from the transfer?

I want to end up on the server I'm already on, but with a different name. At this point in time, this will require 2 transfers back-to-back. This name is already in use on many servers, likely due to it being on the auto-generate list. I believe my last search on the lodestone returned 20 servers with this name, but can't verify due to Lodestone maintenance. Regardless, I shouldn't have to make a new character before transferring due to the popularity of this name

Thanks for the reply, but I already read through that page several times before posting my question. I always research an issue intensively before asking directly for help. Doing this takes more time, but it does reduce my impact on the support system. That page does not state if there will be a restriction on how many times the same character can be transferred. It also does not state if transferring for a name change, and then immediately transferring back, is an acceptable way to force a name change. Basically, the page you referred me to does not answer my questions. Why just refer me to information that does not help? Is this just another way to indirectly tell me to "We have no idea" yet again?

The free transfer is only one.
