How do you keep track of main story quest line?

I am due to do the second dungeon so i expect this is where my main story quest line is hung up but i needed to know..is there a place in our log or journal that tells us where we are and where we can go next for main nstory quests? or a list somewhere online?

i am doing Gladiator..and tho i am at 29, and my class quests are appearing i havent seen a story quest with teh curly edges for some time thanks for any info.

it is hard to know where to go for the level quests we are at without some guidance other than the hunting logs.

also when or how do the hunting logs get renewed? i have reached level 3 and done it all but it didnt change automatically is that based on class quests?

The first three dungeons (Sastasha, Tamtara, Copperbell) are part of the main story. Being that you're level 29 this must have been confusing to you. There are points in the story where doing a dungeon with a group are mandatory.

Hunting Logs open up every 10th level. (10, 20, 30, 40) Each class gets their own unique one at the aforementioned levels once they've been completed.

To answer your question, if you open your Journal any quest in there with the Meteor icon represents a main story quest. If there's not one in your quest log and you're unsure of where to go, you can goto the Completed tab and see what the last quest you completed is. Sometimes it'll tell you what the next quest is or going to the NPC from that quest usually will lead you to the next quest. If you still have trouble finding it, you can goto Gamerescape and look up the main story quests there and reference the last one you completed and it should tell you the next one you need to do.

I am about ready to try now but wanted to ask for advice, as i have been a bit confused about the story as you say, and wanted to keep up on it.

If anything you probably should have done Guildhests if you wanted more practice tanking as those are more structured, group oriented content. Leves and FATEs are primarily solo content, with FATEs just being something that encourages spamming abilities so that you get the best contribution to maximize XP gain. Also, dungeons automatically sync your level down to the highest it'll allow, so having leveled to 29 won't really do anything for you in them.

The first three dungeons are pretty simple, I think even from a new player perspective. Copperbell offers up some gimmicky type fights but it shouldn't be anything that poses too difficult.

You need to know that it's not just your level that syncs but your gear is going to sync as well, and that you can't take those higher level skills in with you. When you get synced down, you lose access to any skill over that level. So if you do a dungeon that caps at, say 20, you're going to lose Provoke and Rage of Halone. Just giving you a heads up. All you've gained is practice, but some of that practice has been with skills you won't be able to use.

Yes i figured that would happen but I am very grateful for the practice i have had, helps to know some of the basics. Of the three starting dungeons, Copperbell sounds like the hardest but i will see. thanks again for all the help and that link is very useful.

Check your Journal, (the ! Icon on your User Interface or press J on keyboard) look under Main Scenario Quests under Completed Quests. You can read the last Main Scenario Quest that you completed and it will give you clues as to what comes next.

Then read your Incomplete Quests under Main Scenario Quests and the one with the ! Icon that looks like it is on fire will be the next active one you are supposed to complete, click the map button on the bottom of the quest to find the area where the NPC or Dungeon entrance is.

Also Npc's with the ! surrounded by black and gold flamed edges quest icon are Main Scenario Quest flags.

If it is a dungeon it will lead you to that entrance on the map, once you are done with the cutscene content that leads there. You will need to use Duty Finder to enter dungeons with a party or to enter the que to party with random people. Also if you have unlocked your inn room, you can read "the road traveled" by clicking on the book on the desk to watch completed quests cutscenes. If you have your Duty List set to "display" on you user interface, it will also show you a list of objectives that you need to complete.

Active Help pages are in your System Menu for all of the help topics that you have unlocked so far in the game.

Yes i know they will synch me down but i will at least know a lot more about how things work than i did

as for Guild Hests, which come from the Battle guy, i will try a few but i am not easy with group play, i know it is essential for the game and will do it but it is not easy. thanks again
