Friend Banned on Forums for no good Reason

A friend of mine made of post about features in the game he would like to see fixed and implemented and was kick out of forums with post removed. I'v read what he posted and read the reply's he was getting and nothing was bad. I went to go check it and the post was gone then he told me he was banned from forums. Anyone else have an issue like this?

And you're about to get banned, too. This exact same thing happened to me (got me a nice 10 day ban for suggesting there should be an alternative to the incredibly lame tomestone vendor in Mor Dhona), and then to a friend of mine who posted wanting to know why I deserved said ban. Apparently, you cannot question a ban ever no matter the circumstances, so enjoy your next 10 forum-less days.

I got banned here once. A e-mail sent to me and it clearly point out the paragraph that cause my ban and what fourm laws I broken. Naming and shaming for my case.

Please post that e-mail here as proof that your comment didnt broke any fourm rules.

Those e-mails they send aren't always entirely accurate. In my case, they didn't send a paragraph but the entire post, and essentially called me a troll ("Posting with the intention of creating a negative reaction on the community" or something along the lines of that).

I called someone stupid once and got banned for 10 days, and they really were being stupid. These forums are a joke.

lol, I remember Rokien got permabanned from the forums for responding once to one of the plethora of insults other people flinged at him on each of his tons of threads. I don't remember a single person being banned for constantly treating the guy like shit, but he responded like once and he got perma'd, lulz.

I got banned too, for aggressive language. I said that I wouldn't like to see dou*** with the power to kick others from instances (hypothetical person, not anyone on the thread).

I just wonder how long it is till i get another ban for pointing out the GIANT flaw in someones brilliant idea to make the game better.

perhaps making a comment about making a future comment will get me banned.

Well, pointing out a flaw and being rude about it are two different things.

I got a 10 day ban and I try to be as friendly as possible on forums or in game. Never use a cuss word on the forums or talk down to anyone. My post was deleted but you can still see it since peole quoted it a few times on the first few pages. If you care go and peruse the right click b list thread and you may see it quoted. Did anyone take the time to find it? Yep that got me a 10 day ban. For paraphrasing what SE already said.

Now that people are saying you only get noticed if someone reports, why would anyone report that? Very heavy handed on these forums.

I got banned for posting a joke. A non offensive joke without any swearing. They said that my post didn't add anything to the thread. Except it did.

I submitted a couple tickets and they said that I violated ToS. Last I checked (I actually didn't) a joke doesn't violate ToS, unless it offends someone. I can't imagine a joke that didn't single any one group or individual out to be offensive. They eventually got back to me saying that they were sorry to hear that I got banned but they couldn't overturn it.

Biggest croc of garbage I had seen in a while. Some people deserve a ban, but they're too loose with their interpretation of who needs one. Plenty of threads have off topic posts and absolute garbage in them and those people aren't banned at all. I would like to see some unbias community mods here, but with SE's track record probably won't happen. Hell I might get banned again for this since I am now on their radar after being banned once.

See, to be banned for something like that means that someone reported you for that post. That kind of behavior, to me, defines the 'white knight' because they were so offended that they reported it.

Now I have something else to make me shake my head regarding these forums. Who goes around just reporting people for not even borderline offensive/against TOS posts?? So very, very sad.

Hey, these are the forums that had threads that were about 50 pages long on average just chock-full of insults towards the OP for no reason at all other than the fact that their opinions differed with his - and ironically, it was the guy that made the threads that got banned, not the army of white knights insulting him and treating him like crap. I actually felt bad every time I saw a new Rokien thread, not because it was "another Rokien thread", but because I knew full well the kind of responses I'd find in them...

Buuutt we can't get all those teleporting bots and what not banned.

I didn't get the email stating why until several days later.

I got my forum access suspended once in the beta and once around the start of september for the same thing. It's amazing how we can get 10/20 day suspensions for calling out how negative and ungrateful the vocal minority of the community is, yet there are so many aggressive and offensive threads floating around that nobody seems to care about.

Someone at SE must read reported threads to make sure that said reported thread did in fact break the rules right? I can't imagine some people reporting a thread simply because they don't agree with it and SE siding with them saying "Yup, this idea is wrong! BANNED!". Maybe they could search for threads and posts by the reporter(s) to make sure they aren't doing this just to annoy the person they're reporting, but that would be too much work.

I got banned for telling someone to stop blaming lag for being bad at videogames.

The hurt feelings police are out in full force. I guess all we can do is (gasp) be nicer to people.
