Tonberry English Speaking Community?

So far, after an hour and a half ive contacted a few FC's. So there are a few that speak english.

However, the server has some issues with lag spikes. Not as bad as the 90000 full disconnect on Behemoth, but enough to cause trouble avoiding aoe. I am hoping it goes away soon though.

I finally join one only to find that despite FC being an english one, half of them speak some form of asian. Sigh.

Damned to repeat this endless loop. Either stay on my current server and just eat the latency and lag spikes forever, or transfer to a server where only a small portion even speak my language.

That seems strange, I've seen and met a lot of english speakers. Admittedly that english might not be so great, but I'm not expecting great works of literature from the game. As Kasern from Skyhawks have posted, they have recently created a linkshell which has several of the smaller oceanic Free Company's participating in it right now. - http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...er-Oceanic-FCs

If larger Company's are your preference, Mirai is most likely one of the largest. There is Synapse, Eikon, 7th Heaven, Avalanche, Chocobo Knights, Forged, Nightfall, too many to name really.

But if you want one that is only english, probably better to specify Australian/NZ Free Company. I don't know which of the above are Australian, but I'm sure a few are.

Flare is currently recruiting people for Binding Coil with long term goal of Crystal Tower, we are primarily English speakers and we prefer to keep the numbers low, feel free to look us up in game and have a chat.

I have nothing against non-english speakers in general. It is just the fact that ive been in multilingual guilds in the past and it quite simply splits the guild into separate cliques that only talk to each other and do social activities together. Rarely ever mixing the english and bi-lingual groups together. I dont want to be part of a fractured FC as ive seen what that does to a guild.

One thing ive found that is quite ironic, is some of the non-english groups have names of english only things. Arthur's Knights was a guild i came across once. Almost nobody spoke english. Totally misleading haha!

It's nice to see my little thread is getting some more responses. I've been checking back in here in there to get more info about this server. So far it really is my front-runner for server tansfers. I'll probably make a lvl 1 character later this weekend to test the waters first-hand, but so far I like what I see. At least those of you who have responded here seem quite friendly and obviously speak English pretty well which is exactly what I was hoping to find

This is what ive been doing. I have a carbon copy of this character going on Tonberry simply to see how things go in anticipation of next Tuesdays transfers. Sadly i will only be transferring this WHM to Tonberry as my only other character on Behemoth will require the full paid transfer at the end of the month. Can only transfer from one server to one server and not from two or more servers to one. Sucks but i can wait.

There are lots of FCs on Tonberry that only speak English, I can name 4 Australian guilds that I play with regularly, and then there are just as many that speak English + another language, such as the Singaporean, Malayan and Thai guilds, which are some of the best guilds on the server currently.

If you want big guilds that speak English there is MIRAI, Ascension, Eikon, Vex, etc. If you want small guilds that speak English there is Flare, Core, Excalibur, Zero, Skyhawks, etc. Lots of English speakers.

So I made an ARC and played for a couple of hours on Tonberry to get a feel for the server earlier. My conclusion: I'll be moving my main char there next week. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of spam in shouts in town, I didn't get a single RMT spammer sending me a tell. There was also a fairly healthy amount of English in chat just as people have mentioned here. Latency was pretty good and will only get better once I make my irl move to Asia. This server has won me over, so I'll be seeing you all in game next week sometime.

PS. If anyone is interested in a full Darklight, Relic+1 Bard I'll be looking for a FC once I make my move
