Player A buys 99 log for 4.5k on the market boards from Player B's retainer
Player B makes a profit and receives gil from a player whose gil was obtained from cheating
Player B is banned for 5-10 days of a paid amount of time, and when returned to the game, has went from 1 million gil to 100k

So SE confirmed that this is what happened, or is this just a theory/guess?

The problem I have with this theory is that the person who went from 1mil to 100k probably made more than 100k just from doing quests. So where did all that other gil go?? Obviously no one has the full picture of what is happening.
