I'm just curious as to why they designed these missions this way. You can party up for regular leves just fine, but suddenly when you decide to do a Grand Company one, partying is a problem? Does anyone know why they did this?

I play 99% of the time with my wife. And as we are trying to keep in sync with XP, the forced solo restriction has made it such that we have only done maybe 2 GC leves.
I would very much like this restriction removed. Even if you can only party with people of the same GC.
Yup that's exactly how I feel. My gf and I rarely get to do them because we also try to always stay in party. I seriously don't know why they force you to do these solo when it's suppose to be a MMO.
Basically: in 1.0 people complained about relying on other people in an MMO (the horror, right?) so now the majority of this game is solo based, forcibly. In 1.0 you had bits that were solo but you had forced 2-7 minimum (+you) so there's no real reasoning, only thing SE has said in regards to forced solo: People will want to team up to overpower stuff like quests and so on. This was said during beta iirc since yeah it was brought up around P2 and 3.
