    This is so true. The crafting system in FFXIV is very unique and has a lot going for it. It could be built up to be a major focus of the game. Instead its increasingly becoming irrelevant. Earlier in this thread there is a post from Yoshi that said Furniture would reinvigorate crafting!!! I thought that was funny because people will only buy furniture if they can buy houses -- and as we all know, that is not happening. Even if it was, I don't want DoH to be furniture focused. I want to make cool gear!!

    why not implement a system that makes crafters more important...intertwine both dungeon and crafting systems...for example u get unique material drops that cannot be traded if u beat say T5 or a Primal EX which would only drop if u had a certain lvl 50 DoH which in turn can be used to make unique weapons by using 2 or 3 unique materials and at the same time preserves the unique rarity of such weapons and still gives importance to the dungeons/raids/trials and boosts the need for a DoH to make unique and perhaps better weapons
    i know that relic weapons has a similar theme but there is only the need for the crafter to meld the materia...and that's all, but by adding such a feature ..people will have a variety of weapons with different statues the best suits their playstyle..

    i hope someone reads this and sorry again for necroposting

    The idea of having a high level DoH (or DoL) cross-class skill which causes rare mats to drop in dungeons is actually pretty cool - set it on your DoW and look out for unusual dungeon features to use it on. This would be a nice application of the 'everything on one character' concept.
