Who told you once Crystal Tower is out, they wont add new recipes (ilvl80) for crafters to match Coil drops ?even iLevel 70 materia melded gear will be trumped by iLevel 80 gear from Crystal Tower
furthermore as the weeks accumulate and players start outfitting in AF2 or iLevel 90 gear the value of crafting is just going to continue to nosedive.
45k for a peacock ore? sure! I'll make money off crafters as much as possible while they don't realize these facts.
Are you an idiot or something ?
You're assuming that they are adding new recipes? Who here is the more idiotic? They've all but announced the big additions in 2.1 and new recipes aside from housing stuff, did not seem to make the list.

It's really not all that idiotic. Adding recipes seems like a pretty common-sense thing to do, right?
But realistically, adding recipes in probably isn't at the top of their list at the moment. And might not be for a while. I doubt they'll have this implemented at release, but I would HOPE they would put something in fairly soon after. Then again, I may be giving them too much credit. Things have been a liiiittle rocky :x
On a side note, not entirely sure new recipes would fit in with "big additions". There's a number of things that may be implemented in 2.1, but no confirmation.

45k for time you don't spend griding tomes when you already made several mil from crafting is really nothing. Also i would hope as new content comes out crafting also gets new content.even iLevel 70 materia melded gear will be trumped by iLevel 80 gear from Crystal Tower

Other than the time you spent lvling where if you were smart you made money doing anyway... You can take 2 mins to make an item someone pays 50-60k for. I personally thank the people taking even half an hour of their time to grind cm and ak for their tomes.

Yeah but it's 30-45k each.. and the recipe call for like 8... so that is at least a half a million per recipe... /gag. But, whatever works. It seems to work for crafters and dungeon runners. I know that I have to get my weekly myth cap, so might as well make some money, anyway.45k for time you don't spend griding tomes when you already made several mil from crafting is really nothing. I made my helm and chest without grinding so i could use the tomes i do have for gear etc. Not having alot of time to play because of work i try to maximize my time. 500k for a vanya piece seems like a lot but its relative. I have plenty of money left over to the point where i can turn a profit off making and selling vanya and use my tomes for getting other things. Rather than taking the time to grind out an extra 1k tomes or whatever is is for the dk chest.
For me it was an easy choice. What else is there to do with money anyway? Less cm runs for me!
Actually its no cm runs, i just use the tomes i get from grinding ak unless i need to finish a spiritbind.
And this, most decidedly this. Please above all else continue to buy these materials. 2.1 will effectively decimate the Item level 70 trade anyhow so need to cash in as much as y'can on this one.even iLevel 70 materia melded gear will be trumped by iLevel 80 gear from Crystal Tower

^Lol if you think you're the one making gil off of this you've got no idea.. On my server these go for 30k a piece. It takes 9 of them to make a mage earring which i sell for ~600k gil. You have fun farmin those tomes for me =)
Need somethin' made?

It is quite funny that you think you are the one pulling in profit.
On Midgard it's 25k for phil. items. You need 18 for astral rings, yes? So if you just sell the ore, you gain 450k before taxes. If you decide to HQ it on Midgard and list it, you'll maybe make 600k before taxes.
Guess what? Only certain DoM jobs need your astral crap to survive fireball in turn 5. Given a week or two, this won't be an issue and you will see your astral ring sales drop in price.
I make much more money than most of my friends with all 50 crafts simply because phil. items are in high demand right now. I was selling you them when they were 60k which made me break 2 mil, and I still sell them to you at 25k which has boosted me even further.
Have fun wasting your time crafting, though, only to have the market eat your profits via taxes while my BLM speeds through WP, making 25k + gil drops each run in 15 minutes.
If no one needs the "astral crap" why are philo items in demand? They are only used for two star items. So you are pointing out that most people would rather save by getting the mats and crafting it themselves or from a guild crafter. Regardless, i can still buy 450k worth of mats and resell it quickly at even 550k. 15 min is still 15 min for 25k where a crafter just spent 10 making 100k.I make much more money than most of my friends with all 50 crafts simply because phil. items are in high demand right now.
