I think that when they introduce the missing race genders, they should allow EVERYONE a free one-time opportunity to change their character's race/gender/appearance, and maybe even the name, without having to lose any items, achievements, or levels.

I personally love the race/gender I chose and have no intention to change, ever... But it seems only fair to allow players who have been here since the beginning, the same chance to be a male Miqo or female Roe as the brand new players would get; without having to start a brand new character and lose all they'd gained.

I agree completely. I wanted to play as Miqo'te but I don't want to play as a girl. So I have been playing as a different race than what I really wanted to play. I Have gotten quite far with my character. I want to keep playing and seeing what is being changed and added to the game so I can continue to give good feedback as to what I feel needs to be done to improve the game. And now with the new announcements they have given it sounds as if they may be adding some real end game content which, of course, I will have to try. But I'm really going to be mad if they make me re do everything I have been working on to get my favored character. It's like putting candy at the top of the stairs, waiting for some kid to go up them to get the candy, and once they reach the top, kicking them back down them and making them climb back up to get any reward.

I've been growing and giving SE my ideas and feedback as to how to make the game better, I don't want to then be caught between the choice of my personal preference of character and all my hard work. That's no way to reward your loyal players who have stuck around and given you all this helpful feedback.

They could always work it into the lore as some sort of quest for an odd witchdoctor/shaman where you can collect certain items for him and he grant you the wish to turn into whatever gender/race you desire.

i like the idea of a quest series with a shaman transforming you perhaps a goblin : Transgenerix greedalot

I agree. I believe this kind of option may show later on (with chance of being charged tho) but would bbe very nice!

Just let not have transgender surgeons here... o_o:: ...or else we will finaly discover where the infamous galkan sausages from FFXI came from...all imported from Eorzean surgeons!

I agree as well, so many rank 50 people will want to have the option but obviously no desire to delete their character to start over

I agree completely. I don't want to delete my current character when the male miqo'te comes out because i won't want to start all over again by then, having a year+ since making it. I'd really love the opportunity to change my race when they introduce the other genders.

I would really love this if they did turn around and say "Hey guys! You can change your race/face etc" XD, it would suck to lose all the ranks I gained just for aesthetic purposes;~;
