    Prices too high for mats?

I don't know how it is on other servers, but on Besaid I am getting VERY annoyed but people who refuse to sell CUL mats at a decent price. Why should 5 people be selling apples at 5k per apple when the vendor sells them for 1.3k? It's like this with nearly every mat. Onions? 5k. Salt Leeks? 6k. Absurdity

Sheepskin is almost as bad if not worse, people want 8k+ for them
and thats just what im currently noticing, im sure its bad like that on every server where people are trying to charge more then vendors sell

Carrots and onions are dirt cheap on Figaro, but aldgoat milk is up for 2k (doesn't that only cost 1.4k?). I've been annoyed that many other ingredients (if on the somewhat rare occasion that they are available) go for just slightly lower than the npc pricing, and have been giving my money to npc instead for most ingredients.

A bigger problem with food ingredients is that no one would be interested in keeping, or even getting, the ingredients, resulting in very limited supplies. I don't blame the sellers, though, since logs and stones sell for more for the same space they occupy, and it's a load of trouble to collect them in the first place.

Yeah, just blame it on ignorance. If there was a price history, this problem wouldn't be so bad.

Cooks definitely have it the worst when it comes to mats. Honestly, the best thing to do is level the harvesting classes for your mats. It is what I've been doing. It isn't the fastest method by any means but it sure beats paying for overpriced mats.

price history wont stop idiots from posting it higher then vendor

people not knowing that it sells for less at a vendor is the problem(and the fact they arent sure itl even sell so no one posts it)

the problem is there are just not enough DoL going to get the mats for us!! and the mats we get from mobs most people just throw away because they NPC for like 45gil lol its a horrible situation... i am a rank 19 cook and i am realizing REALLLLLLY fast that NO ONE wants to sell me fish so i took up fishing >< (stinks!!) i also have LS mates who are Bots (Bottany) and for the specialty mats like black pepper or mustard i farm them with my MRD. Its a HARD life being a cook... we can't rely on the market economy...

If the price history shows that the last time someone sold an apple it was for 300 gil, and that the average selling price of apples was somewhere around 700 gil, he's not going to list it for the retarded price of 5000 gil.

There are more smart people than idiots, so those 2-5k+ purchases show up on the price history as anomalies as the majority of sales will be below the NPC price range. People will know what the fair market value for apples will be due to the easy to understand info of the price history.
