Error 401 - It is not necessarily your bank. Partially solved for me

So after getting Error 401 when trying to make a valid payment with my credit card on Sunday, I tried 4 different credit cards for 4 different banks (Visa, MC, AmEx and Visa Prepay). All of them returned with the same Error 401. So I talked to a friend 3 states away who tried to use his credit card. He also got Error 401. I even tried to buy Crysta with credit cards to pay for my sub.

So at 9:01 AM Pacific I got into a queue for Live Chat Customer support. I was #10 in line. The Queue took 55 minutes. I found out that ALL forms of Credit Card Payment for my account have been blocked FOR THIRTY DAYS and the Customer Support cannot undo the block. I was blocked for this long because I tried multiple unsuccessful payments.

I would not be able to write this if there wasn't some sort of solution. So the work around is to go to Game Stop and buy an "Ultimate Game Card" to buy Crysta with. And then use the Crysta to pay for your account.

I first tried to do email delivery of a Ultimate Game Card from walmart.com but they were unable to deliver. I have heard since that many of the online purchases of Ultimate Game Cards end up being invalid. Get the physical card.

Hope this helps someone else. Hopefully they will admit on their announcement that your financial institution may not be the one blocking it, and tell people how to get their accounts going. Either that or fix the error, but we all know it will be quicker to get yourself an Ultimate Game Card.

The reason I say "partially solved" is because I would prefer to use my credit card like the 2 other people in my house with accounts.

You need to call Ultimate Game Card customer service line (650) 432-3200, and they'll be able to push Crysta to your account
