Mime!

I suggested this back in 1.0, thought I do it again. I would have bumped the old thread, but couldn't. So here is again!

Gogo the master of mimicry has traveled through time/space to Eorzea to teach others the way of the mime!

(Considering how s/he time traveled from FF6 to FF5 Advanced to teach Bartz, Butz how to be a mime, and the Lightning FATE being also time travel, that this could be a way to implement Mime.)

Quest: Will you be MIME?

Quest-Giver: Gogo

Location: Old Gridania, Amphitheatre!

Instance: Show Gogo you prowess of imitation!

Reward: Unlock cracked orb, and class-Mime.

Here is how I would do it:
When you choose mime, you only get one ability! Mime! You highlight a random stranger/friend/family and use the ability mime! With other abilities as well.

Whatever spells they have in their hotbar is now yours of appropriate level! If you are much lower level than the play then you will have to manually set the abilities for the list.

The duration of mime is limitless!

Abilities:
Mime -Take the abilities of a class you selected!

Reverse -Remove the class you mimed!

Parody -Save a class/job! So you are black mage and your party white mage goes down! No sweat hit Parody and immediately switch to White mage and pick up their slack. When they are back up, hit parody again and resume black mage, or mime someone else cause you are bored!

Weapons: Orbs! They become any weapon of the person you mime! Of course trying to use a level 1 orb to mime a relic weapon isn't going to work! The orb must match the Ilevel of the player you are trying to mime.

Armor: You can wear ANYTHING! However, like Orbs, you gear level must match the player you mime! When you mime the player you gain their armor!

Just think of all the time you couldn't find that one job! You could have that one friend who has mime leveled and just sees the class/job you want and they mimic him and you are all set! Problem solved!

Nope, not for an MMO I am afraid. They would eighter end up over or underpowered.. Balancing is not really an issue in typical RPGs and having weird requirements to be good would not stop the MMO community as we put down a heck load of time into our MMORPG of choice. Would love the class, but I am not really sure how it would be properly balanced.

It can only be as powerful as the person they mime.

The restriction of Parody would have to be large to prevent abuse. Hit the action and you have Parody stacked II times. Once to switch to the emergency job, then one more to switch back to the class you were miming before. Possibly a 5 minute cool down or hell make it the 15 minute cool down.

I liked the mime class in final fantasy tactics, so if they make a class/job in ffxiv it be interesting atleast.
