Playing it old school

So I'm almost at endgame. I mean, I'm stuck trying to beat titan. But I am a fully DL pally with 100% vit boosting and an Ifrit sword. The trouble is, I don't have my relic weapon yet. Heck, I dont even have the primal part of the quest unloacked yet. You know why? Because I have just under 200k from natural questing, and after seeing that battledance materia 3 cost 20k on the boards, I was like THE HECK WITH THIS!

So here's what I did.

I decided there's no way im spending 20k on a materia when moneys super tight at the end of the game, and as a matter of fact, I will also not pay somebody to meld that materia to my weapon.

So, I decided its time to take matters into my own hands and level up a smithy.

I get to lv 20 and see that my progress is barred by Brass. So, I start leveling up a goldsmith.

I get the GSM to 20. Then I go nack to Black smith. But then I discover something else. Buying wood from the boards is geting way too expensive. I mean 99 elm for like 10k? THE HECK WITH THIS!

So I decide to level up my botany AND carpentry, and now guess what?

IM CHOPPING MY OWN DAMN WOOD.

How do you like them apples!

Turns out im getting a more rounded experience from the game, and I don't regret the grind one bit.

Shoot! You're on my server, I'd meld that materia for you for free!

More to the point, I understand how you feel though. I ended up grinding BSM up to 50 to meld my own materia to my sword, felt better than just throwing money (in which I really did not have at the time... Battledances were about 60k a pop) down on it, cause now I can help others get their weapons done too.

lol battledance 3 on my server is 75k, and Philo crafting mats sell for 35-60k a piece on my server, so theres no reason to be worried about money. Dont worry about how the money is getting into the economy, just worry about getting as much of it as you can in your possession

have not check the price yesterday but 2 days ago it is around 20k-22k

Oh yes, that's the best way to go about it, especially if you're feeling lucky! Will do if I don't forget D:, my memory is horrible haha.
