    New Player "Hello!"

    I am Morfessa.
Can you please help me? I would like to join a guild that is chatty and a bit social. Also, I don't know where to look for the bank or my house. I started as a Botanist in Gridania. So far, I am level 4.

There is no house in FFXIV for now the bank is really the ward go to the map and look for it say ward. You wont find many players in Gridania you should move to ui'dah if you like to talk to other players and see players for that matter lol.

Also what world are you in?

Hi, Morfessa. Welcome to the game!

Like Zenaku said, most players have moved to Uldah. So that's where you'll find the most people to interact with.

If you're looking for a linkshell -- and I think that's always a good idea -- I'd suggest checking out the forums for your server. Many linkshells have posts in there advertising, in case you want to join one of them. You can also check out the server forums over at Zam. (link in text)

The other option is just to go to Uldah and /shout for a linkshell, or wait until you hear someone /shouting about one you can join.

Like Zenaku said, there aren't any player banks or houses yet. FFXIV has retainers. In any Adventurer's Guild, there's an NPC at the counter you can talk to that will allow you to hire a retainer. A retainer is sort of like your own personal servant. They can hold your stuff, or you can put them in the market wards to sell your stuff. (They don't cost you anything.) Once you've hired a retainer, anytime you want to call him/her -- whether to give them stuff to hold for you or change the items they're selling -- you can go to a Retainer Bell. There's always one in the Adventurer's Guild, and there's always one other somewhere in the city (check your map for the little bell symbol). Just stand in the area of the Retainer Bell, open your main menu, and click on "Summon Retainer."

Right now, you can have two retainers. So you're basically tripling your inventory size.

    Hope that helps.

Also a note for Retainers right now you have two Free once this game goes over to P2P. It would cost you 1$ more if you want more then 2 retainers also you can only have 1Char any more then 1 would cost you 3$ for each new char you have.

    Many Thanks

    Thank you, Zenaku; Vydarr!

My world is Trabia. I see only so very few people around, so I will look for Uldah as soon as I am stronger. Currently, my stone throw ability seems completely useless, but I am still learning, so I will give that another try. Funguar is not my friend!

You have both given me so much information. I appreciate!

Incidentally, though, since you mentioned it, when does this game become a P2P?

It would become P2P around PS3 release.

If you're using Throw Stone it means you're currently a class that's not intended for combat. Look on http://ffxiv.yg.com/items?f=s=weathered;c=1 for weathered weapons. You should be able to look up the location of an NPC that sells them. They each cost between 1.2 and 1.6k gil. Finally, equip the new weapon to change to a fighting class.

lol never read the part that he/she using throw stone ya you need to switch to a class you most likely in Land or hand class.

Edit: Ahh yes you playing as a Botany you wont get any fighting skill that a Land class. You need to get one of the following class. Hand-to-Hand,Sword,Axe,Archery,Polearm,Thaumaturgy,Conjury
