I love knowing that undercutting people annoys so many.
I shall continue to do so.

"oh you undercut me?here i undercut you back"
Don't undercut, UNDER QUANTIFY! selling 1-10 of an item i often sell HIGHER than the undercutters with their 99 stacks. They post a stack for 9,900. i post 10x of the item at 1,500. This is great for sitting on a wide variety of mats, posting small amounts at a time and if an item sells i put up another small amount of them. I'm having difficulty selling much of anything right now (thus my small stack approach i use currently), all sellers, no buyers. Everyone's saving or grinding gil for their house. Also leathers, fleece, diremite etc have abruptly unemployed a lot of people, and they are dipping into other markets. Prices are so low across the board though, could be a great investment opportunity if you have a few weeks patience.
don't end up like Avere. Cherish your healers!
It doesn't bother me at all, I actually like to market boards alot. If I can I usually drop my prices 10% lower than the current lowest price. Its basic business. If it goes for super low, buy it up and dominate the market with a sensible price. or sell in bulk at a noticable price. if one item is going for 1000, sell 10 for 700. you still make decent money.
Have undercut, and will undercut again. I will do what I need to sell the items I have, stopping only when it gets silly. At the end of the day this is just a game that we pay to play, and how we choose to play it is up to the player and no one else ( unless it's against game rules obviously ) the way some people react to things like this is laughable tbh.
I pay to play, and I play my way.....
I craft and and materia to my items. I spent a few hours crafting to load my retainers up and check on them every 3-5 days. If stuff haven't sold I adjust not because of undercutters but because nobody is willing to buy my item at my price and lower it to meet demand. Then I check on it in another 3 days and adjust if i need to. Normally crafting for a few hours will keep income flow for about 2-3 weeks.
Its not like you buy much in this game other than food and crytals. I could go all out and craft and buy all my lvl 70 gear but whats the point I like blue armor.
It really depends on how much they are undercutting me by. If an item has been sitting at a pretty steady price for awhile and they put 10+ on at 50% then yea its kind of annoying.
I just undercut them back by 1 gil. They usually do the same (within 500 gil). It's a pretty cutthroat living when there's only 1-2 customers a day for the product you're selling, and there's half a dozen sellers.
Sometimes I undercut by several thousand, just for lols.
Depends on the market at the time, though. Sometimes I undercut because I feel price gouging is going on. 6000 gil for a level 30 item? Thats a bit steep. Try 3500. Sometimes if I see people being petty and undercutting by 1, I will halve the price and mass produce it just to drive them out of the market.
It all depends on how bored I am.
