When it's only by a few g, it's fine, just move my stuff to the new price. But when something divebombs, i do a wtf /facepalm at it...

I've been undercut on pretty much everything I put on the market.
Wait a day, his and mine get bought or they both rot there for a week.
Being undercut isn't a problem, it's what's necessary for a thriving economy. What is a problem, though, are the people who massively overprice common commodities thinking they're some sort of genius, and flooding markets with it. If you put an item that can be bought from an npc on the market place for 100x+ the value the npc sells it for, just stop. Seriously.
Oh, its ON.
Nothing wrong with undercutting happens in real life happens here if you want something to sell quick you lower your price than your competitors simple as that your life fuse have two stores in one sells something for cheap in the other usually go to the one that has cheap items. besides undercutting or not if someone sees something they really want my market bored they will either buy it they have the money for will do what they can to make money to get the item.
the only solution to those 1 gil or (insert other mmos currency) undercutters that camp the market or AH 24/7 is very simple : DEEP UNDERCUTTING, if ur really that impatient
I absolutely detest undercutting in this game. It's one thing when people undercut by a few gil, or even lower the price some 5-10%, but I've seen so many people undercutting immediately by 50-75% and dropping the price on items making them no longer worthwhile to even craft. It's one of the banes to the games economy for crafters. It really starts to pigeon hole crafters into making HQ 2 stars or to just GTFO if you don't like grinding for hours on end to make just a few hundred gil an item assuming you gathered every mat yourself.
Really the markets should be scrapped and the auction system from XI needs to be put in it's place. You have far more stable markets where you don't see the prices on an item drop by 50% or more in a single undercut, and considering resources and crafters are far more plentiful in this game than XI, you shouldn't see the issue of prices being so obscene because there is going to be a lot more items available.
Market mechanism only partially affects the price. The biggest determinant is still supply and demand. There are little demand for 2-star items because of dungeon drops...then there's horde of crafters like you (who can make it to lv50 easily) who wants to sell 2 star item. How do you think the price is gonna be? Granted, the blind auction system in FF11 will probably net you more profit, but at the expanse of the buyer due to the lack of transparency. So basically what you're saying is that anything that allows you to make more money is good even when the buyer have to pay more than they are suppose to given a certain imbalance in supply and demand?
I think the undercutters, in time, stop to sell the itens cause they dont have the proper profit. So I wait until them stop sell at low prices and sell my product after that. The hint is dont depend on 1 item for sell only. Its what I do.
I wait, because eventually my listed items will sell when the undercutters aren't paying attention.
Or I package stacked mats in different quantities. If you're selling stacked mats and you're just trying to game the market board by getting your listing at the top of the list with a lower price, you'll lose money on the short game every time. If the prices is 80 for a stacked item, selling multiple stacks of 10 for 100 each will often outperform an undercutter selling a stack of 99 at 79 each. Crafters don't always want to craft a limitless volume of items so they don't always want to buy full stacks, especially in the lowbie crafted weapon mats market.
If you're undercutting the undercutters, you aren't "beating" them, you're playing their game and encouraging more undercutting. Don't feed the trolls.
