if you're just leveling, you don't need the carbuncle's contagion since the mobs die too fast for contagion to matter, just go with ifrit, and carbuncle on dungeons (contagion)

Wind Blade is not an auto-attack. It's one of her abilities. She spams that move until you order her to do something else. Ifrit auto-attacks in between every Burning Strike for example.
Ifrit from 30-40.
Carby after until Garuda, and then Garuda.
Titan as applicable when soloing.
Ifrit's auto-attacks -should- elevate his DPS above that of Carbuncle or Garuda because they have similar damage on their abilities and the caster pets do not auto-attack. His main ability is also instant, whereas Carby and Garuda's has a small cast time. If you can't keep him alive, though, he'll contribute far less and he doesn't have Contagion so those are two big problems with using Ifrit.
You can probably ignore Ifrit all together and not really suffer, as the differences between the two types of pets should be pretty minor damage-wise.
Ifrit doesn't scale off of our caster stats, which is, you know, what we stack, so in the end Ifrit does less DPS than Garuda, who scales with us.
Ah. Sorry. I consider it an Auto-Attack I guess technically speaking you are correct though. Sorry. ^^

Damage wise Ifrit is higher by a small margin
Survibability is dependant on encounter
Utility Ifrit looses out, this is mainly due to poor response times and pet AI making his stun almost unusable, his dmg reflection barrier is pointless if they allowed him to cast it on the tank it might be useful but honestly it probably just needs replacing with something useful
