I will be paying for my 30 day subscription soon and that means I will get one free chance to select a new race without sacrificing my existing work. I primarily play a tank and enjoy the visual aesthetics of Lalafell.

What are your opinions regarding the social impact of selecting a truly non-optimal race? For example, while mathematically base stats should have little to no real impact, especially later on with statistical inflation, but do you believe some individuals may decline you as a tank because you are "non-optimal"?

HM Ifrit is a shining example of why my overall concern is valid. Most everyone knows that you can complete the fight without a stunbot. However, the vast majority of players want the path of least resistance and have made it a social requirement before making any serious attempts.

So, without being too verbose, do you all think there might be an actual social impact (with a negative effect on my end-game experience) of selecting non-optimal base stats in exchange for an aesthetically appealing character?
