Mobile Broadband Usage

Was not sure where to post this so I thought I would try here.

I am wondering if anyone has any hard data on much data Final Fantasy XIV actually uses (saw someone said they are using mobile broadband and couldn't track the person down again ). I would imagine it is not a lot as it is only just position data etc being sent but I am just wondering how much bandwidth I would actually need if I wanted to play it for a couple hours a day on 3G when my current connection refuses to work at all.

Also if anyone got any data about ping times etc, I wouldn't mind that (I know it will vary per person, but nice to have a starting point). Thanks and sorry if this been said before - did try to search but no luck!

I have used my phone's connection sometimes to play MMOs. It doesn't really use that much. Maybe 100-200MB a day. Ping should be as good if not better than your normal connection. If you're using a phone, you can track usage in its interface.

FF14 uses around 233MB (With Dungeon Runs)
Most MB ussage is chat funny. If you stand aroun din Mor Dhona all day, you will have a painfull high Volume at the end

Ping is around the same as PC due to the fact servers for europe are so strangely placed.

so thats why i get freaking crazy lag in Mor Dhona if i stay for long periods

i also use 3G router i only lagg in congested areas like Mor Dhona and some congested duties like Amdapor Keep & Titan HM

latency decent in others so i very rarely lag

but since we got crappy ADSL lines in my country 3G router is best option

I play 100% of the time tethered to my phone on 4G and usage is around 10-20 MB per hour, sometimes as high as 25 in things such as FATE parties.

Ping times for me are good most of the time.

i used to play using mobile broadband
just like the other posters mentioned, it's usually around 200mb per day (weekend)

Using mobile too, CDMA. Not really good latency, but at least I can do easy stuff, including AK or Garuda HM farm. ^^

Btw, only using mobile when I'm at office or outside, using ADSL when I'm home. lol

Anyone know if not displaying chat prevents the data usage?
