I dunno if fast is a word id use here, sure its faster than older concepts of leveling, but I can take a character from 1-50 in a day in any Cryptic Game, I believe WoW and EQ series are on similar pages as well these days, the problematic issue is the newer mmo gamers all suffer from A.D.D. apparently so companies now focus on flashey endgame mechanics rather than the adventure in leveling itself.
