    Is selling Potash/Coke RMT?

I've been seeing people post stuff on reddit about getting banned after dealing with Potash sales and they sell for a decent chunk of gil on the market (72-80k) so I was wondering about this. I don't want to use my philostones to get gil instead of gear only to be banned... I want to have enough stocked up for housing though.

Do you know what RMT stands for?

    .....

You don't get banned for selling in game items for in game currency. You get banned for RMT/botting. You shouldn't believe every sob story on the web.

You can get Temp Banned and have your gil confiscated IF your items were bought with RMT purchased gil.

The only way to avoid this is to charge reasonable prices for your items. If you are charging top dollar, chances are only someone who purchased gil can afford your items.

Undercutting the markets is a good thing ;>) Greed is not good.

What stops the gil buyer from buying the cheaper item? You are the one who is greedy for wanting hardworking crafters who make ilvl70 items for cheap prices.

And you want them to stay at high prices, for what reason?

If Market Prices are cheaper, then there is less incentive/need to buy gil.

Back in my old FFXI days, I was actually tempted to buy some gil because I could not afford any of the upper tier items I needed/wanted. The AH was out of control with crafters/farmers making bank off of all the "gil buyers".

Thankfully I did not give in to the temptation and SE brought down the "Ban-Hammer" and confiscated billions of gil which led to the AH prices becoming more reasonable again.

The same thing will happen here and is happening already.

Oh, and just so you all know I am not a cold hearted bastard...I do think that SE should return the "tainted gil" items to the players who sold them...just lower the price next time you sell it. ;>)

hey maybe you should acually know a thing or two for making such an ignorant post

players HAVE BEEN BANNED FOR SELLING ITEMS on the market board for gil - 100% ingame system

    why?

BECAUSE GOLD SELLERS/FARMERS ARE PURCHASING THE ITEMS

makes no sense to ban the players for this?

    oh well!

If they're not selling it for real world money, it's not RMT. A possible cause of the problem was that the items were bought using RMT gil.

I think this was in that giant ban wave that got people for selling items to people who bought gil.
