Server transfers, infrastructure upgrades, all coming after people have to subscribe or cancel. It's about the numbers.
What it really seems like to me is that they are trying to get customers to leave so the amount of players on the servers better fits the amount of players they originally planned to be using the service. So instead of upgrading to meet the demand............................
