It's one thing if you can't fix them, but how long are we going to keep pretending nothing is wrong?

I experienced a lot of lag early last week and towards the weekend it was a little better. It was unplayable for 3-4 days, but then it improved. Today, however, I got lag again to the point that I couldn't complete a dungeon. It lags, freezes, then fast forwards, until instead of fast forwarding it just disconnects me. It's really inconsistent. Even during peak hours in the weekend it works fine sometimes and not other times. Hopefully they address this soon. It's so disappointing when you are running a dungeon and all of the sudden can't complete it. I feel bad for abandoning my party.![]()
I'm really starting to think that SE wants to get a grip on how many people are going to subscribe before doing anything that remotely resembles a hardware or infrastructure upgrade. I played FFXI with severs in Japan (I'm in Louisiana) and didn't have the kind of crazy lag I see every afternoon. I think this sis clearly an issue of them stretching their resources to the limit. Server transfers, infrastructure upgrades, all coming after people have to subscribe or cancel. It's about the numbers.
Funny, because a ton of people can't even subscribe because of 401 and 601 errors.I'm really starting to think that SE wants to get a grip on how many people are going to subscribe before doing anything that remotely resembles a hardware or infrastructure upgrade. So far I hold SE is pretty low regards.
What it really seems like to me is that they are trying to get customers to leave so the amount of players on the servers better fits the amount of players they originally planned to be using the service. So instead of upgrading to meet the demand............................I'm really starting to think that SE wants to get a grip on how many people are going to subscribe before doing anything that remotely resembles a hardware or infrastructure upgrade. The subscription errors aren't just a sole problem of square's, I had the same issue when I was playing wow. Perfectly valid MasterCard debit card that I use for most everything including this game. Ended up having to use Paypal to pay Blizzard.
As for trying to get customers to split, sometimes you really have to wonder. I mean between all the issues outside the game itself and all the cheating that looks to never be resolved, Square surely dances to the beat of their own drum regardless of the fact that they are alienating large numbers of their fans.
When you are talking of server side lag, you are not talking of error 90k or any other error or people getting d/c right ?
because this game as an ANNOYING server delay about every action and it's have NOTHING TO DO WITH LATENCY, i live in montreal at less then 5 Kilometers (3 miles) from the servers i have a ping of 8 when i do those testing, my game never have a different or spiking lag issue, i juste always have about 0.3 to 0,5 sec delay i would need to record and slow-motion the video to actually know how much it is, but there is a delay, wish is always the same between action getting done on my UI and when the server see it done, im a black mage, all my cast i can start moving at around 0,5 to 0,3 sec and they will finish casting, i am never spiking, if i move at 0,7 it will never finish to cast, my connection is very stable. If im in a void zone (red zone) i gotta be out of it around 0.5 sec before the animation start or i take damage and often could die with my corpse being outside of damage, i can even see other people dieing and their bodies appears out of the void zone.
My friend who play a monk and have the same latency as me, if the boss is moving he can't hit it, unless he appears in front of the boss. So if a tank is kitting a boss, he gotta be in front of the boss hitting nothing but the server will recognize it as hitting something... i just can't imagine PVP under those condition
here an example off this server side latency i found on youtube where it's pretty obvious player was out of void zone but he took the damage since he wasn't out more then 0.5 sec before the animation

If SE continue to give a CRAPPY customer service like this and don't fix this server side latency and act like it's doesn't exist, FF XIV:ARR will just do like 1.0 and become a failure even tough it's as the potential to be a game that hurt WoW...
i had high expectation on FFXIV to be THE GAME that would let me leave wow and be my new mmo... i've tried all the big new mmo in the last 3 years to make me leave wow and this 1 and secret world are the only 2 that were close to it, secret world had the best leveling experience ever in an mmorpg but no end game at all, ive played it as a single/2-3 ally to quest with single player rpg and had alot of fun and never player when i finished the storyline, now FFXIV has the real potential, the fight mechanic seems nice, rotation are maybe a bit too easy but with time and new skill would become great, i expect 2.1 to bring great end game when im looking at Coil, and the primal HM, the only problem is the DAMM SERVER SIDE LAG.... i have never lagged in any game in my life except if it was server side lag or i was downloading alot of torrent, but this game have an automatic delay wish have nothing to do with our ISP and our CPU and it will kill this game in the long term...
This lag is acceptable for questing but not for raiding/dungeon or for pvp in future
So far i'm still playing wow and purchased 1 additional month of FFXIV but if at the end of the month there is still this ''server side lag'' it will not be my wow subscription that will end but will be my FFXIV and that is sad cause i love the potential of this game

It's SE, I say that because their ego now and days is pretty pathetic. They didn't acknowledge how bad FF14 was tell near the end. Don't get me wrong I love ARR and I still hold a lot of love towards SE but they seriously can't grasp on PR,feedback and how to run/manage games.Their mentality is pretty much "somethings wrong?, must be on your end since it can't possibly be on our end" is starting to piss me off.
/end rant
I'm really curious about the next Live letter, if there will be any info coming about this lag. Or just that the maintence before the live letter, actually fixes it, wich it better do.
For frags sake, I just had to actually drop out from an AK group, because people were standing still for up to 5 secs at the time, several times during 1 pull. It was unplayeble, and I didnt want to cause a wipe.
And again, its during the EU evening, 6 pm to midnight GMT+2. All fraggin hell breaks lose during that time. Cant even do a low lvl dungeon due to this.
