SO what if any are the benefits of ranking up your grand company standing?
Im not talking about FC ranking with them, its more like reputation with them?

You gain nothing important from ranking up. Don't waste your time.

Can get an easy weapon for somewhat pre-endgame. The GC weapon is on par with the darklight weapon.

My GC is at 'trusted' right now how many more ranks is there?

Only good for leveling alts, other wise a total waste of time. When I finally reached max rank; I had way better gear well before that happened. GCs are pretty pointless all in all.

I really wouldn't focus on it to much, if you fate grind a bit for first 50, do the quests related to it, and or level an alt char...you will easily be max rank and capped in GC currency quickly anyways.

GC weapon is pretty good and good enough for you to attempt end game content.

The higher-ranked levels of the GC provide more substantive rewards when it comes to armor, gear, etc. This is useful for supplementing leveling gear, for getting leveling crafting gear, for getting the spiritbinding gear, and for the ever-popular achievements involved in numbers of seals gathered, items turned in, leves completed, pets acquired, and gear worn (getting the Soldier's gear also has the added benefit of receiving Sanction buffs that vastly improve its stats when used).

GC rewards also include the Survival and Engineering manuals, of which there are two tiers, and these help gathering and crafting, respectively.
