It is an interesting question, because you are right.. There's various Guild's for unreleased classes.. There's even characters in the game of an unreleased race. I don't think he plays like a Gladiator, the opening movie shows an Elezen Gladiator, and she's built in heavy armor, a longsword and a shield. Classically Gladiator's thus far in the game are not light cloth armored dagger wielders. Also yes, he claims to be a bard. With the past of the Final Fantasy chain I see no reason to doubt this fact.. Bard will feature sooner or later.

Very true. In Ul'dah we have that Roe GLA and they don't look nothing alike...not only the weapon but also the armor and even the way he talk is much more like a bard than a GLA. And he aso has one grave characteristic from D&D bards...manipulation of others based on charisma and the way he talks...it was very noticeable when they did Momodi almost weting herself at first mission while talking to him.

I do think we might see him using song abilities very soon...hopefully when companies start going for real ^^
