    Old FFXIV-player coming back

I just recently wanted to give FFXIV another chance and installed the game once again. Last time I quit playing because of lots of bugs, a poor interface and generally very difficult learning curve. Now that I've come back I tried it out for about a minute and wanted to relog, and I noticed in the chat box that I couldn't because I wasn't in passive mode. Wow, I totally forgot that and now I'm reconsidering to start a new character just to "learn" the game from scratch since I clearly have forgotten a lot.

Has this game improved since launch? Do you guys have any tips for a newbie like me and are there some sort of tutorials or guides to the game?

    Welcome back, KonradA.

You might want to check the New Player forums. There are lots of helpful threads there. And I know someone has put together a "Let's Play FFXIV" video series, which is linked in the New Player forums.

    Good luck, and have fun!

Welcome back! Yes, the game has improved a great deal. Still changes to be made, mind you, but don't let that scare you off. The wheels are very much in motion.

Anyway, in addition to checking the New Player Forums, I suggest you find yourself a friendly linkshell to join - that is an excellent way of learning your way around the game. If you're on Gysahl and GMT timezone, my LS are looking for members. If not, good luck on your way.
