Can I ask you a question

Hey all semi new player here looking for a bit of advice and a little help with some questions.

    1. Is CC used much in this game I have only done the first three dungeons and there seemed very little need for CC will I be seeing a lot of it soon or is it moderate?

    2. Still on CC what classes/jobs use CC and is it a specific role that gets CC i.e all healers get it or all dps or a mix?

    3. This is more of advice rather than a question but also maybe a tip for someone in need too:

I recently noticed while doing the My First bla bla for DOH and DOL that I was getting loads of fire, ice, etc shards now as I don't plan on looking at crafting or gathering till I have all DOW and DOM classes to 50 I checked the market boards for these items and on my world server the were selling for between 25 and 40 gil each and I had 500+ of some types and 800+ of the others so I listed them all and logged back in this afternoon to a nice 140k (also mini question is this a lot, what is a lot of gil? As I now think am rich )gil with some still on board about 20k's worth so thought that's not too shabby .

But what my question is have I unwillingly cause my self an issue for later game by selling these or will I been fine seen as am not too fussed with crafting right now?

    4. Now this one again is advice / question :

I originally planned on leveling two jobs at the same time, was going to be PLD and WHM. Was doing this by one doing story and dungeons and the other doing side quests and dungeons, but this got me thinking if I am going to level two why not go for three and level tank, healer and dps all in one go doing a mix of fates and leve quests for the third one.

So my question is has anyone tried anything like this before is there any pitfalls to look out for will I struggle to do this will it make leveling to 50 like a snail's crawl. (I don't mind taking my time in no rush to 50.)

    5. With the two different subscription types (standard or entry) do you still earn veteran bonuses?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Althire.

Oh boy..well I'll try to answer best I can.

1&2) CC is used yes, but from what I've experienced (and Im a level 50 whm) it's not a matter of life or death if you don't unless you have a group that pulls an extra group. As far as who uses it I only know of thm/blm and whm using sleep, I haven't really played other classes yet so I dont know of other cc's sorry

    3) Shards are pretty easy to come across. If you dont need them then selling them was a good decision.

    4) I would only do one job at a time really, for story/side quests, once you get 1 50 you get an armory bonus to help you level all the other jobs since you used up all the one times quests/story to get your first 50

    5) As far as I know it shouldn't matter whether you are a basic sub or not, as long as you continuously sub you should get vet rewards. I may be wrong.

CC can be very helpful to healers at some points, though Haukke manor was the most I've ever used it. At 50, so far, its not too often used but still helpful.

I know CNJ gets a sleep, I think THM too. Not sure who else.

Shards arent too much of an issue if you dont mind farming them later. Do realize though that farming a few thousand can take an hour or some.

Get one class to 50, then worry about alts. Once you have one max class, you get a +50% EXP bonus to other battle classes to level faster. Level your first through storyline quests and a few fates in between, then level the other classes through fates to level fastest. Only run dungeons when you're sick of fates and want some loot.

Veteran bonuses are received through total time paid for accumulative. The only difference is how soon they are received.
By paying for 90 days at once, you get all rewards the moment you pay.
If you only pay 30 days at a time, you still receive all of the rewards, but not until the time has been paid for. ((I.E., you get the 90 day mount the 3rd time you pay for 30 days)).

    This is false

You get the 50% bonus as long as you have a job 1 level higher than your current level.

I took WHM to 35 then PLD to 36. Got the Bonus XP through 35 on Paladin.

Ok does this mean it is a good idea to go for multi leveling as long as I keep my two other jobs below my main one?

These two answers you see after playing rift for 1-2 years I am sick of the FATE type leveling I do them sometimes when I am passing them but never go out of my way to do them and never run groups personally I love running dungeons and as I usually tank or heal them so I can sort of set the pace. Is the xp from dungeons really low as the first three I seem to gain a level per run through and only takes 30-45 mins?

Second answer I was looking for advice on the standard vs entry sub options I am currently signed for 90 day standard to get all the rewards what I mean is if I switch to entry after that will I still get month four and five and so on as a veteran? (also edited my post to clarify .

Also another question as this is starting to bug me now lol.

    6. I have been looking for the intro to limsa lominsa on youtube so I can start writing a blog basically trying to recreate my characters foot steps but when I find the video on youtube it is this.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COn3709JIHM

Now I remember all the start, the "hear, feel" bit but then it cuts to a boat now I am really sure that when I watched it I was on the back of a horse drawn carriage of some sort.

So is intro dependent on race or class? (in limsa lominsa)
Or am I missing something else altogether as the boat intro seems so much better than the one I had to watch .

Seeing as your profile says you are a Gladiator, I imagine you started in Ul'dah since the starting city is based on your class.

No I started as a marauder in limsa lominsa and changed to a gld and I know it is dependent on class where you start what city you go to what I am asking is do you get a different intro depending on race?

As long as you progressed through the storyline enough, if you look under System> Active Help archive and select Armory Bonus, it will explain how the armory bonus works.

Even if you do not have pop up Active Help text set to active, it will automatically archive every help page that you have accessed so far in the game.

Armory bonus help info comes up the moment you switch to your first cross class, if I recall correctly. I know its only use able on DOW DOM classes. You get maximum bonus by leveling the class that is the farthest level from your highest leveled class.
    From the manual:
"To lessen the burden of leveling for multiple Disciple of War and Magic classes, an experience point bonus known as the Armoury bonus is added when slaying enemies and participating in FATES. The bonus grows larger the greater the discrepancy between your current level and the level of your highest class. Use this to your advantage when deciding when and how to raise secondary classes."
Also you get rested bonus which also adds experience points bonus. It is from being in Sanctuary areas or in your Inn Room and you will see the moon icon on your exp bar when you are in a sanctuary and accumulating resting bonus. It accumulates while you are offline, if you log out in a sanctuary.

Using Food also gives you a 3% exp bonus.
    Good Luck To You
