I love it when anyone that isn't as ticked off as you is a "fanboy". Way to begin a constructive conversation.
That said, I'm really not sure what kind of massive never-ending endgame you are expecting so soon. I've been playing MMOs since Everquest. Never seen the "endgame" unfold at release. Just because you want it now doesn't mean it's reasonable to expect it now.
Rushing is one out of a fresh character you get to max level as fast as possible, get to endgame spamming dungeons nonestop playing 14+ hours a day trying to get the best gear as quickly as possible, talking down to all the "casuals" that did not rush through it like you (not you your self but the people rushing) and then crying that there is nothing to do after 1 month of a games release because you mad dashed to everything that is out there.
That my friend is rushing. has nothing to do with "fanboys"
Said the guy who only has 1 50 with not a single piece of DL and no other classes above 30 (including DoL, DoH classes). It gets a ton slower at higher levels. Do you think reaching 50 is the endgame? I still don't know how long it would take to get more crafting to 50 while also gear up warrior.
Well, they don't and I'm not telling them to level every class. If they want to hit 50 first that fine, the problem comes in when people complain about end-game when there are other classes to level/content to do etc.
There's more to a game then just end-game.
Edit: When they get their first 50>complain about nothing to do= Rushing ( Personally that's how I feel).
I also want to put this out there I don't care if certain people rush to 50, that's not even my issue. My issue is when they get to 50 they complain there's nothing to do. ( other-words nothing to do at end-game).
Well there is end-game:
1) Titan/Ifrit/Garuda Hard mode
2) Mythology
Sure there isn't a lot now ( it is a launch after all), after a year has gone by I like to hear these responses again :P.

By golly, if I don't like this game, everyone else must hate it or they are insane. Clearly that is the way things work, for my opinion is cast in the light of reason and fat children (who like to eat butternut squash soup). Can't they see all the forum posts, especially of the people who post repeatedly about the same topic? They are the majority! MAJORITY! How can people not just fall in line with my beliefs and feel my loathing (which can surely be mistaken for attention seeking, but I assure you, it's not!)
Loathe loathe hate loathe complain complain. That is the mantra, and if you don't follow it, you're made of excrement, which looks very bad on the armor of white knights.

My levels are even lower:
Archer 24
Conjurer 23
Gladiator 10
Fisher 26
Miner/botanist 25
Weaver 29
Goldsmith 23
Leatherworker 22
other crafting classes 20/21
Maybe I will reach lvl 50 on any of battle classes by the end of my 180 days, but wouldn't bet on it.
Leveling other classes amounts to running the same content back over again, and I'd argue that telling someone to level another job if they want something to do is about as useless as telling someone in any other MMO to roll an alt if they want something to do. It doesn't address the actual concern, which is variety of content.
I won't speak yet to the staying power of what end game content we have right now, as I haven't yet gotten a chance to experience all of it, but I will say that a token grind and three primal boss fights is not all that inspiring. It's less than TERA, an MMO that quite literally released with only two end game dungeons (four, if you count normal and nightmare versions as separate), but at least those dungeons had a variety of boss fights, whereas half the endgame content in XIV is beefed up versions of trials you experienced while leveling. Coil represents a significant challenge, but I do have to wonder how much of that challenge is simply an artifact of being forced to tackle it undergeared (as ARR is currently missing the tier that is supposed to bridge the gap to Coil - and why Squeenix skipped a dungeon tier is a whole 'nother bag of confusion right there).
There is more to this game than just grinding. You get out of it what you put into it, just like life. People expect the world to entertain them, why not entertain yourself?
How would any of you survived before computers and consoles?
It...it doesn't get slower at higher levels. 30-50 was FAST. Extremely fast. Like I said, 49-50 wasn't even 2 hours. Where's this "slower at higher levels" thing coming from?
Reaching 50 is not the endgame. This is a discussion about how fanboys say that if you spend your time questing on one job, you're "RUSHING TO THE ENDGAME!!!!!!!111". I stopped playing a couple weeks ago because the endgame dungeons are not fun. I know the endgame sucks, I haven't reached the horrendous endgame grind that others are experiencing, because frankly, I didn't find the endgame dungeons fun. I sympathize with them that the endgame is boring and is an annoying grind. Grind CAN be made fun, ya know.
And if you were to devote all that time to leveling one JOB, people say you are a rusher. Not everyone likes alts. Like someone above me said, using alts as an excuse for content(which is just you re-running the same content you've already done) is not a good argument for "THERE IS PLENTY OF CONTENT STOP RUSHING".
As someone who played casually (and even stayed level 15 for a week and a half to let others catch up during the login restrictions), once I picked back up and started leveling my Paladin again, I hit 50 in no time. There wasn't any rushing. I even went out and did some gathering(without leves, to slow it down but still get more reward), did a little bit of crafting(which levels extremely fast with HQ turn ins. Heck, look at some of the guides to see how quickly people go 1-50 with crafting), and leveled a little bit of my conjurer. I didn't rush anything.
I want to play a paladin. I have no interest, CURRENTLY(read, CURRENTLY), in the other classes right now. So I devoted my time to my paladin, I'm not a rusher because I chose to level my main job. I have other classes I do want to level eventually, when they add more versatile content from 1-50(once your main story and side quests are done, leveling alts is boring).
Bottom line, if I wanted to RUSH, I would just run FATEs. But I don't. I hardly run FATEs because they're a boring zergfest. I prefer to do them when there's only a group or 2 out there doing them.
So with your logic, someone hitting 50 with 1 job 6 months from now means they were rushing? That's what it looks like you're saying. Just because someone doesn't want to level an alt, doesn't mean they are rushing. If you play WoW(ugh, sorry to use this example) and choose to level a Warrior to max level before rolling an alt, that means you're rushing? What kind of crazy logic is that? Maybe the player REALLY enjoys his warrior and wants to play his warrior. Maybe the warrior playstyle is perfect for him and he doesn't want to try the other classes. There should be an endgame when an MMO launches...Period. If there isn't, leveling needs to be slowed down to make up for the fact that they are WORKING on an endgame. Do not release an MMO with a tiny or boring endgame and make leveling super fast. That is a recipe for disaster.
PSA: It is possible for a company to launch an MMO with a full-fledged endgame.
After a year goes by? That's not a good argument. This is a re-launch of an already failed MMO. It is painfully obvious that they rushed 40-50(mostly 45-50), just by leveling you'll see that they did. Mythology is you farming ONE dungeon, for 8 hours a week. Some people find that insane. The 8 hour a week requirement(hell, even longer if you're a DPS trying to queue with DF) is not an issue with me. I expect it to take awhile to farm for mythology gear. My only issue with that is the ONE dungeon that you can run for Mythology. How many tomes do the primal HM's drop? A minuscule amount? Not even worth farming for tomes. Giving us 3 recycled boss fights with a bit of increase in difficulty is a poor excuse for an endgame.
Goodness, please note people. My issue is not just with the endgame. I UNDERSTAND that this game is new, and that 2.1 has a ton of new content for endgame. I'm excited for 2.1 I'll play this game again when 2.1 launches. I'm willing to admit that the endgame is pretty bad, but that is to be expected from a new MMO. The whole purpose of this thread was that just because someone hit 50 before you, doesn't mean they rushed. The people who are 50, who are at endgame, have every right to be upset.
They could have avoided this by:
- Launching the game with more endgame content(like, making 2.1 the actual launch patch)
- Slowing down the leveling when they were designing the game.
If an MMO has a weak endgame, and it takes a couple months after release to address the endgame issues, the leveling speed should be slower to make up for that. Leveling in this game is way too fast.
