    Error 401 when trying to pay. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

    My friend is getting an error 401 every time she tries to pay for her subscription. I've seen threads talking about the issue being for people out-of-country, but not one bringing it up for people within the supported area.

    My friend lives in the US, they registered in the US, and they are trying to use credit/debit cards that are also registered in the US. This isn't an issue involving location, this is an issue involving their faulty global pay system. To have this problem, lock people out of their accounts for 30 days just from trying to pay for their subscription, then blame it on the players? That is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. SE needs to be fixing this issue right now.

    The game is about to lose a large portion of players over a stupid payment error. You'd think they'd be doing everything they could to get people online and playing. Anyone experiencing this error should receive a free month of game time for having to deal with this, not a 30-day account lock. How mentally retarded are they at SE?

    So people should get free play time when they encounter an error? Yeah, no.

    Although I didn't have this problem during payment, it's quite apparent, and if SE hasn't noticed it, there's something seriously wrong. However, fixes don't come at the snap of a finger, so at this point, I'll settle for holding my breath.

    US players got mulriple choices to go around that problem, sub with crysta or even get a gamecard.

    It happens for people that are inside the country too. It happens for various reasons like the CC not liking the charges because I believe the company that does the actual charging is in the UK. You can get around it by buying Crysta with an Ultimate Game Card which you can buy online or at tons of places like Wal Mart and 7-11. My friend was having this issue but it worked with the game card.

    I subbed when it became available and didn't run into this problem. However, there are multiple people in my FC that are reporting this issue as well. Its looking like this is a massive and widespread problem - which doesn't seem to be location based.

    What's worse they are also saying that they are being charged $1-2 when they try to pay (probably a way to verify the card).

    Try subbing with a game card, unless you are also locked out from doing that?

    This is one thing that can happen. Having worked for a company that took CC payments for a subscription, there are many reasons a card can be declined or causes issues, and SE will never know the reason, or have any way to fix it. When a card gets denied/declined, they don't get told why. There could be an anti fraud system that declines cards based on certain criteria, again, even if you call CS, they won't know why. Sometimes the person's bank doesn't like the charge or where it's coming from, so you have to tell them to allow it, and many other possibilities. People are far to quick to put the blame solely on SE, and while it very well could be them, there's very many reasons where it might not be them. Also, don't try to say "the card works here or there fine" because that doesn't mean anything.

    One of my friends had the exact same problem so he had to go get a pre paid card and it took it just fine. Try doing that. Or just buy Crysta.

    I don't want to appear rude or anything but why are YOU angry?
    Your friend is having the problem not you.
    There are problems with payment systems everyday it is not a rare thing.
    I doubt SE actually have their own payment system that they actually make themselves so how can they personally fix it?
    Has your friend tried to pay on a different PC if it is a PC account? Sometimes software on a PC can effect payment systems.
    SE have provided multiple ways for people to pay. Get your friend to use one of those.
    How do you know that SE are not doing everything they can do to resolve the issue?
    I don't understand how is your friend locked out of their account for 30 days?
    You know SE cannot talk to you about some body else's account don't you?
    You must also know that throwing a fit on the forums will not resolve anything.
    I doubt SE will lose even a tiny amount of people who have this problem because they will just go "awww shucks" and pick a different method.
    Why would anybody deserve any kind of freebie for such a minor problem?
