I may have 3 lvl 50 classes now but I'm still working on leveling the others.

The game is not all about having that 1 lvl 50 class and you're set for the entire game.

There are crafting, gathering, and getting cross-skills.

Also I'm leveling the other classes to lvl 30 for the cross-skills

currently level my Gladiator to lvl 50 since I'm interested in seeing what Job they will give Gladiator as its 2nd job.

Paladin is nice but Tanking has never been my thing.

leveling the other DoW and DoM is a good way to prepare for the future 2nd Jobs Gladiator, Marauder, Conjurer, Lancer, Archer, Pugilist and Thaumaturge will be getting later.

Wait, I can't argue a topic that people have posted dozens of guides on how to hit 1-50 in a matter of a day or 2 for tradecraft leves? Just google it. It's there. Doesn't mean the point isn't valid.

When people get on someone for "Rushing to end game." They're talking about the people who hit 50 and have full set of DL gear, relic + 1, and are already doing coils claiming "There's nothing left to do." None of it is about the leveling process. The leveling process is 100% irrelevant. It's about how much content there is in the game and someone who only plays 2-3 hours a day or 15 hours a week.. they are not in tier 5 with a +1 relic weapon.

i consider myself a casual, even though i can play 4 hours daily and 10+ hours on the weekend
the first point of OP is very describing me, i hit 50 within 2 weeks by doing quests and some fates along the way

You are not casual.

Edit: There is actually a massive grey area between hardcore and casual. I believe you are there somewhere in the middle.

hq crafting does make is easier, but not everyone can just hq craft to level up, unless you are gathering only hq mats and htat takes a while or you are dropping a lot of money on the wards...

You are not casual.

Casual is being used as a VERY broad term.

Casual, today, means any of these things:
- You play 2-24 hours a week
- You LITERALLY stop to smell the roses or watch the sunsets ingame(someone in this very thread said that, too)
- You are terrible at the game
- You have no desire to better yourself
- You hate PvP
- You want everything handed to you easily
- You don't like to do dungeons or end game content
- You don't devote your life to the game

A casual is any of the above. This isn't about who is casual and who is not. All those people can be considered casuals, and they ARE considered casuals. Texhnolyze IS a casual. That's certainly not hardcore.

Note: I do not believe a casual is someone who is bad at the game. This post is merely to point out that casual is thrown out with ANY of the definitions listed above.

um I been playing since Phase 4 on this char. I'm still not even maxed level. So it is possible to not rush. I spend a lot of time RPing, and even leveling a few alts. I'm not interested in end game, so I'm in no hurry to get there. So it's most definitely possible to not rush.

OP totally not understanding the game. This is The Sim, final fantasy version. If you treat it like WOW or any combat oriented game, you are dead wrong.
Look at the patch 2.1...Housing is the next big thing.

I bet the patch 2.2 will introduce Ikea furniture, Shopping mall and virtual chocobo farming.

What is End game? It just beginning of virtual life here.

I've got three alts now each with three classes at or above level 15. I've worked on most DoH classes on this character, carpentry and DoL stuff on another. I've spent a lot of time running around screenshotting. A good chunk of my playtime has been spent roleplaying. I play ARR in the evenings, everywhere from 1 hour to 4 or 5 hours at a time, and sometimes not at all. Sometimes I decide to take my game time to Rift instead. And still I have a job at 50 with side classes leveled for cross-class abilities. I did not rush at all.
