Technically, unless you have all classes at level 50, then you're NOT max level in this game.
And if we want to involve semantics, no one is max level, as characters have no level, the classes do.

Every New MMO launches with either No or Limited End Game Content. Very Few games get an End Game Content boost 3 months after they are released, and planned Content releases on the same period... In any other game, when they release a new class, you'd need to create a new character (and pay more money). In ARR, when a new class comes out, JOIN IT'S GUILD and Rock On!
Just because you hit 50 doesn't mean you're out of content. Have you mastered your class? (Most FATE Grinders have not)
Have you gotten the Crossclass skills that carry over to your Job for maximum damage output?
Do you feel the flow of the water, wind, and earth as a Conjurerer (and pray to the Twelve that the next Job Patch adds GEOMANCER as a DPS Role for CNJ, with it being CNJ 30 + THM 15)?

Played since beta, still not past level 31 as THM/BLM. I guess I want to enjoy the most out of this game without getting burned out. I just don't need to level as fast as I can. The content will stay there for a long time.
This Miqo'te THM/BLM desires nothing but death and destruction of Garlean Empire.*under construction* *be aware of falling materials* *we hold no responsibility for injury or death*
I'm not really sure what content you have been doing for 2 months in a level 30 envronment. I got to 15 in about 6 hours of just questing, nothing else. That's without the armory high class bonuses.

I too am quite curious what you've been doing in the game.
Please do not consider this an attack, I am genuinely curious as I started playing two and a half weeks after retail and I consider myself extremely casual when it comes to leveling pace.
Felis catus

What I've been doing? Hm, leveled other classes, exploring areas I am currently to low leveled to enter, getting more knowned to the interface, for once trying to understand the macro system. Never used before, but since I plan to enter raids and end-game content I feel I need to know that, at least the basics. Trying to learn my main job better before getting to the end-game content, even though it is really easy to play. I am a slow learner, so I take my time to learn it properly. Then off-game I read about other classes to plan ahead what I need and don't need for BLM, which I will primarly use in dungeons. THM is for leveling. Besides, I've been level 31 character for about a week. Since beta, I have also made 3 other characters with different main class. And as said, I take my time to enjoy the most out of the game, because of reasons mentioned: Not getting burned out on the game too quickly. I have no need to hurry to 50 yet. Might as well take my time. While I'm at it, I hate leveling, even though it doesn't take long to level up. Now you know.

I will never understand, why people who love to Focus on ONE class and Endgame-Raiding only... play new MMOs.
Is the "I was one of the first" so much more important compared to having content?
If you want to have a big endgame content, join a MMO that is >1 Year after release. You have less bugs, more features and more content.
New MMOs will never ever satisfy you - and you should know that by now. How often do you have to make the same mistake over and over again until you notice that?
I play every day and I think the current pacing is fine, the problem is that important end game content is missing and it shows. Without Crystal Tower there's no proper way to gear up for Bahamut's Coil (which is designed for ilevel 80). Tomestones are, as indicated by their relative scarcity and weekly limits, clearly meant to SUPPLEMENT the gear you get from drops but right now they're the ONLY way to get gear at all acceptable for raiding. If Crystal Tower was out right now people would have: another way to get tomestones of mythology and, a way to get ready for Bahamut's Coil that is actually appropriate to their gear level instead of running story dungeons designed for people who just hit 50 over and over again. The game really should have been delayed until CT was finished since right now there's a huge gap in progression and it shows.

Despite this game having an awful community, I find what keeps me here is my FC. Never has a game been able to do that. I have 4 50s on famfrit (first set of new servers) so I'm by no means casual.

Idon 't have a problem on how quick you can get to 50, my problem is that the endgame feels repetitive. We have only 2 dungeons to get tomes at the moment.
I wish their was more variety in content for getting tomes. If we had hard mode for all the existing dungeons I would be really happy to set the duty finder on random. Also we have no open world endgame (solo/duo/trio ) content.
I don't like the repetition, give me variety SE.
